I fitted mine with a variable resistor as my TV card needs the resistance way high to remove checkerboarding. |

The progressive signal is the first thing where things go awry, many descalers expect an interlaced signal. End results vary between no picture at all to forced deinterlacing, which basically eats every second frame of motion.
But even then if the scaler processes progressive single definition signals correctly, the C-64's horizontal and vertical frequencies are not exactly what the broadcast standard is, so that might also pose a problem to some chips. |
