GOTEK A500 SOUND MOD LOOK AT ME IM A REAL BOY ! er... FLOPPY

I was trying the gotek "sound mod" the other night, and... I thought that it wasnt quite like an genuine A500 floppydrive... And I think many will agree.

So by solder four wires from the original floppydrive.

FDD pin:
10 Drive select 0
16 Motor ON
18 Direction select
20 Step

To the equal pin on the Gotek emulator.
And power connector...

It now sound like this

Now make samples of the different sounds each pin makes on the drive, then use that to trigger a sound board and you can ditch the floppy drive

Not as easy as that, but I've been thinking about this for a while now. Might have to start prototyping something.
I would think there's some risks to doing this, and also, well, you still need a stupid floppy drive.

Very excellent. It would be great to archieve this without the original floppy.

Yes I'm my opinion there is no replacement for a genuine rattling electro mechanical device like a A 500 floppy drive.
But I really think that the piezo speaker is a great complement if you don't have a working floppy.
It was really weird running the Gotek without any sound at all.

Btw here is the links for oled and gotek.
