So many people have been asking us... Yes we could have released it with beta firmware. Yes it would have made sense financially. But since our financial interest is limited (and we've got our own standards we want to stick to)... It's taken this long.
Assume Scrat can soon show some final screenshots. |

Any tentative dates and/or price or is it still parked under "until it's ready"?

I've just got my hands on a CDTV but I also own an A500+, assuming I can only afford one Zeus - where do I put it?

Just buy a 3D printer, clone the Zeus and put in both miggys!

@Bamiga2002
I would hope a Zeus would be cheaper than a 3D printer! Seriously though, now that I have a vested interest I'm only just beginning to understand the shortcomings of the CDTV when it comes to being utilised as an A500 system. Does the Zeus provide a panacea to my CDTV expansion woes? Will it give me my ultimate living room Amiga? (the only spouse friendly lounge Amiga due to it's Hi-fi camouflage) When I buy any stock Amiga (that I wasn't privileged to own back in the day) I feel like it will satisfy some void. When it arrives I feel instantly compelled to spend lots of money upgrading it. I can't tell you how much I value the wisdom of the stoic Amiga community, to help me make the best decisions. Crazy hobby! A500+ or CDTV? |

One question : which one do YOU prefer mate... It is your own choice. CDTV is hard to expand because of its hardware spécifications (DMAC, lack of place between the motherboard and the upper case, non amiga standard joystick and mouse ports, upgrade to 2mb chipram, specific boot roms...). On top of that, we do not know if the Zeus will fit at the moment... But CDTV is the "Alien" of the Amiga range and a challenge, which is exciting, isn't it ?

So how fast will the accellerator be? And what other benefits would this give my a500?
I'm not well up on the technical side of amigas, yet. |

Should the first post be updated? Or should it still say "Project Status: Prototyping. Limited production run planned for winter 2012."?

It's been a while since I posted the last update, so ...
The whole thing got delayed again because our hardware dude had to take a break for personal reasons while I was busy with the kids and other things. I'm still confident that we get this thing done in the near future, but please keep in mind that the Zeus is a hobby project where fun is much more important than a fixed release schedule We demo'ed a working prototype at the Amsterdam party where it received a blessing by the Amiga gods. |
