New player to trash ol' abandoned DP, huh ? Sounds good to me.
I'm on the lookout for a good pc modplayer after my A1200 died in mid-january. For now i'm using DT2 on winuae. But it won't play midi or ogg. And uae takes too much cpu for a music player background task. Thus i've just found this one. If you need help on 68k code you can maybe count on me (if i get the time). I have written a few DT2 players as well. Do you like bug reports ? If not, sorry, but i will flood you nevertheless Let's start with those three : 1. ProTracker's Invert Loop effect (EFx) isn't properly played. I can give an example. 2. Many MEDs are not played correctly, e.g. http://aminet.net/package/mods/med/Canyonglide 3. No midi i've tried plays, while they're fine with e.g. w$ media player or winamp. Tell me if you want more |

Hi, yes, I like bug reports!
1. Please give an example. 2. I don't write the mod replays myself but I will submit a bug report to libxmp (unless you want to do it yourself). I currently don't use the latest version in BZR Player so some things may be fixed though. 3. I'm aware of this. Midi should be played fine, but I accidentally screwed it up in the latest version. Thanks! |

Just a "feature" request.
When adding a folder, only to add "supported" formats. since currently it adds *.url *.jpg *.png *.txt which is s nuisance to remove manually |

Then please see below for more.
Yup, see in the zone. Diff starts at 0:27. The effect seems to be played, but later than it should. Quote:
I have seen many problems in MED replay. For a good reference you can try DeliTracker 2.34 with : . the MED player 3.10 (the one adapted by Delirium), for MMD0-MMD2 . the OCSS player 1.20 (same), for MMD3 Quote:
Is it supposed to be able to play XMI as well ? More problems : 4. trying to play a Vectordean (aka rjp) crashed - it says : assertion failed src/uade-2.13-1.01/src/audio.c expression : uade_read_size > 0 I have a fixed player for DT2, uses noteplayer and has songend support. Perhaps this is related to a sample file not found. 5. doesn't play tcb tracker module (i have made a DT2 replayer for this) I tried with this one 6. not a bug if not in the list (haven't checked), but it doesn't play maxtrax mods (same as 5.) 7. many texts are cropped in the settings pages 8. repeat feature always return to the start of the music, regardless of the possible jump command at the end of the tune 9. normally all songs are played one after the other, but it doesn't work for many formats (e.g. hippel-coso, digital mugician) 10. songs converted to ptk (e.g. player 4.x) don't calc the duration 11. digital mugician sometimes skips notes 12. coso 7v (without replay code in the module) isn't recognised I may have more in store if you want |

Thanks, I appreciate your report. I'll check them when I have the time and get back you.
Regarding 7, I guess you run windows with bigger text than normal? I think someone reported that issue before but I never got down to do anything about it because changing that setting in Windows 7 required a restart... |

Should be a log-off, not restart for a DPI change.

Bug Reports: Sorry if these are repeats from somewhere in the thread, but I'm just coming back to BZR...
1.) When alt-tabbing back to the BZRPlayer from elsewhere in Windows 7, the Playlist and information windows disappear. Clicking the PL and I buttons on and off puts it back again. 2.) There doesn't appear to be any way to manually move playlist entries, once added via Add Folder, up and down the playlist, at least not via drag and drop etc. 3.) rjp.Killer (Cannon Fodder 2) has a blank track at the start that doesn't skip, subtrack 2 of 6 only plays for a few seconds and then skips the rest of the entire rip to the next one in the list. 4.) rjp.WarX4 (Cannon Fodder 1) lists 2 subtracks but only plays the first; not an issue as such as track 2 seems to be just a repeat of 1 5.) dl.Frontier_-_EliteII (Frontier) never advances past subsong 1, and depending on the version used, either loops the first one over and over, or just runs silently on forever after the end of the Frontier Them. Everything else I had works fine for me now though, so thanks for the updates! |

1. Yes, it's a bit weird, and should be fixed.
2. No you can't move items at the moment. Will have a look. 3. Those blank tracks re part of the file...however there IS a bug: where a song end is detected (for some formats) it will skip the rest of the subsongs. You can manually change to the next subsong though. 4. Works as expected. It's the same song two times. Same in other players. 5. Yes, it will loop forever. Not sure what you mean with "Frontier Them". |

Tried it in 4.0 Beta and it sounds about the same as in BZR Player... but not quite... but what is the best reference player here? |

DeliPlayer on the PC should be fine as well. Of course the game from which the file came is also a good reference Btw several other mods are played incorrectly in BZR : mod.an1 from http://aminet.net/package/mods/4mat/anarchip mod.flashback-journal (available from the game's folder directly) mod.benefactor ingame 3 (level 3 music, once converted from ProRunner) Beware when making changes though. Some mods like mod.fury-desert play incorrect in many players - but this one at least was fine in BZR and changes might alter this. Note that if you can pass MY quality check then you're a winner |

Code:
Effect EFx: ----------- PTK1.0c: mt_UpdateFunk: -> Funk repeat effect PTK1.1b and above mt_UpdateFunk: -> invert loop effect Info: Protracker 1.0c and below had a completely different effect, when effect 0xef was used. According to the replay it was called funk_repeat. Later Protrackers use invert loop for the 0xef effect. So songs using the effect will most likely sound screwed up, when played with the wrong replay. For testing purposes check out dreamfish's MOD.miami vice. It uses "invert loop" and sounds broken with a PTK1.0c replay. Now we need the "evil twin", a tune using funk repeat :-) Among other things, because of that the "replay mode" was configurable to pt10, pt11, pt23 and pt30. (I prefer 2.3 though it produces pops and clicks in some cases due to differences in volume handling when pt30 doesn't). btw2. I just updated the amiga file heuristic to sort out tfmx st files and adding/replacing some of Don/Adans new replayers. mld/uade team Last edited by mld; 30 April 2015 at 18:03. |

AFAIK no single replayer can handle every ptk mod in existence ; however DP2 leaves only very few of them behind. A DP2 "replay mode" would be fine for my use.
In addition, if integrating DT2 players (using DT's noteplayer interface) is easy for you, i can give you the ones i fixed/wrote. |

Salut Meynaf,
you are absolutely right. I learned when I made our replay based on the original replay codes, all different Sound/noise/Protracker bugs'n features made it very hard to support. After all I made switches you can pass to our replay. Anyway oceanloader.mod has a nice phasing effect of the leadvoice most modplayers miss out and thus sound flat. BZR and libxmp has this problem too. About your replayers... Many thanks! My problem is, officially we can't distribute any replayers for the noteplayer interface (long story don't ask). |

Officially the noteplayer interface is undocumented and we shouldn't be using it at all
But for some formats (Quartet ST, TCB tracker) it's very practical because they often go over the old 28khz limit, not to mention it giving many features for free... How about using some other custom interface instead ? I still have the sources after all. They could fill in some structure of yours instead of poking DFF0A0 & co (which i don't like to do). |

heh, we are using Don Adans Quartet and TCB tracker replayer atm. I'd have to look to be sure, but it might be using the Eagleplayer Amplifier interface, which uade (ironically *g*) officially supports.
A Maxtrax player would be cool. We still lack the audio.device implementation in our soundcore... :-) About "banging" on the sound hardware. You are right about the benefits for Noteplayer and the amplifier interface on the real hardware like channel mixing surround, 14bit etc. The modplayer is an example where the software mixing had some (very small but nevertheless ) side effects. The flanging effect with the notedelay effect ed with parameter 0 is less strong due to the longer time mixing the channel by software then by mixing by hardware. It is also slightly different if you compare e.g. Pt30 and PT2.3 as well, tho. Last edited by mld; 30 April 2015 at 22:54. |

Anyway BZR didn't play them when i checked. Quote:
http://meynaf.free.fr/pr/dt2players.lzx I turned the audio.device stuff into dt note player because audio.device has dma wait bugs on accelerated machines. This player also contains a fix to get correct tempo for kyrandia musics. In the archive you will find a few other players as well, including VectorDean with song end support. Quote:
