Preview Reviews (ALE)
Here's a preview of the reviews coming to ALE over the next month or so - we'll be opening again shortly.
http://ale.emuunlim.com/reviews/back-ttf-part-3.shtml There are many more to come (about 100+ so far) if Jambo would like me to remove the search box from the review pages now would be a good time to let me know |

Hi!
Sure you can use the search box, but I have to tell you the code you are using is WAY off (dating back to 1999 Jambo! I think! ) The new code you should use can be created for you on http://jambo.emuunlim.com/myjambo.php but MAKE sure you change the form action FROM http://jambo.emuunlim.com/search.php TO http://jambo.abime.net/search.php as I will be changing hosts soon-ish (it's not up yet, but it will be soon)! Also if you use the advanced features you can change many things in the search results page! As for the reviews, they are excellent! I envy you for have the willpower to create such in-depth reviews like that, for so many games! I only ever write reviews when I can be arsed (and that's not very often! ) Hope this helps! Thanks |

Thanks Jambo!!
Press the GO button now and you'll get your new URL - like you say it does nothing at the minute but all the reviews have been changed and it took less than 30 seconds

well...
Nearly there!
You just have to change the : input type="text" name="searchkeys" TO input type="text" name="game" Then it will work! And while you're in the source, can you change the "Powered by Jambo!" link to http://jambo.abime.net please Thanks //RCK: hey James !, if you want to sign, use UserCP instead, thx |

Hey, great review!
I remember pulling my hair out over that game too. Your remarks were spot on! I also liked the clear break down between the different categories (graphics, sounds, etc.) Most reviews around today no longer do that anymore. Keep up the good work |

I never liked the Amiga version because, in comparison to the C64 one, it lacked a lot.. the C64 version was more nice, and teh music was better as well

Back when I got that game (1991?) I remember trying to like it, despite its overwhelming blandness. I may have spent maybe 10 minutes on it and tossed the disk in the pile for swapping.

Now you see why I uploaded BTTF3 as a demo review, that game was hated by most of us one way or another but it had a certain quality you tried to find - most of us failed.
Plus it's based loosely on the movie which probably helped sell the title in the first place. |

Regardless of my not liking the game, I still liked the review. I've read a zillion reviews for Cannon Fodder and Lemmings and other popular titles. I couldn't even remember much about this game (what it was about, why I didn't like it) until I read that page. And even after reading it, I considered taking the game for another spin around the block.
So just make sure you don't change direction and start doing 'safe' reviews for games that are already over exposed! |

I quite agree with Twistin' Ghost.
There's not much fun in reading reviews for games that everyone knows anyway. |
