Perifractic's Retro Recipes - my YouTube videos
Can I make a hit song on the C64?
Can a 1987 Commodore Amiga 500 do email? ️ 2018 encrypted email?! Via Wi-Fi!?! Join me in this epic journey as I find out with very special 'guests' including Jan Beta, Retro Man Cave, The Retro Asylum and more: [ Show youtube player ] (no ads) Yes, I was finally able to document my journey of trying to get email working. This was the result of weeks of research and helpful advice from many of you in the Amiga community, aiming for the perfect combination of TCP stack, hardware Ethernet device, Wi-Fi, A500 email software, and SMTP solution. I think I somehow make the journey look easy! This video uses a combination of footage recorded at various stages and times during the project. (And as I say in the video, the same result occurs without the Vampire card. It only makes the video recording process faster! The thing that helps the A500 in this case is the Plipbox in combination with the Network Boot Disk configurator.) I hope you enjoy my little contribution to keeping the Amiga community and machines alive and current! Cheers, Starglider aka Perifractic Last edited by DamienD; 15 March 2018 at 10:34. |

Awesome video 👏
Today I also succeeded in connecting my A500+ to the net using "TCPser" on Win10 - - > Nullmodem cable - - > A-Talk III on the Amiga side. Connected to a few BBS's...... Fun fun fun Really enjoyed your video 👍😀 |

Hi again.
Is there any email client that run on a stock A500+ with Kipper2k's A508IDE running ClassicWB 3.1? I've tried Yam, no success there. |

Actually that's the exact config I tested on separately and it works. Do you have the Plipbox? Network configuration boot disk that I used? I found those + YAM 1.3.5 to be the ONLY way.

I know, let's convert the Commodore Music Maker into a sexy red thing with LED and potentiometers, then use it to record a brand new SID powered track!

Wonderful. It has to sound much better for real as a Sid or MP3 file than in the Youtube video

Could you please post all your videos in a single thread like the other Youtube channel peeps? It'd be most helpful since you have a bunch of them now.

No that's not the prob, it's just that all the people that have frequently updated YouTube channels (and websites, too) are asked to put all updates about their project in one thread ("Starglider's YT channel updates" or whatever you want to call it). Example: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?...hlight=zeusdaz A mod can merge your threads into one. I asked them if you agree. |

A question that you can avoid answering right now, but I would like to have some new 2SID sid music ...
And also, you could put your music in SoundCloud. |
