It looks exactly like that with Rebel's palette...
(I converted the IFF to PNG which you can check with XnView that it only uses 16 colors as well)

If it doesn't show like that, then you're not using Rebel's palette correctly

No, and thanks (and I'm using Scalos). I know what it is, and now I watch it better. I'm trying it in a miggy with a problem with colors. That's why it doesn't look right.

I'm following a couple of threads opened about this matter:

http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=32586&

http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=64675&

Thanks mate.

...Edit: But hers looks really great though, even better or just darker? Just look the C= on the left of the monitor. Doesn't it look better in hers?... and the definition of the window... ALL. Perhaps she wasn't using as we were thinking 16 colors, as it looks better than your image (and mine).

Edit: BTW today I've downloaded your collection of wallpapers from another thread, and I like a lot your SpiritOfAmiga one.

Andreas, would it be too much of a hassle adding a couple of 'logo to the left" wallpaper versions, for example for the Commodore and Amiga Keys pics? I'd like to use them on a Mac but it puts desktop icons to the right, covering the image where it should not be covered. Not good enough to try "fixing" them myself and flipping them horizontally obviously is not the solution.

Thanks bLAZER, with your glow BoingBall I knocked together just what I wanted for a desktop image.

Also thanks to Peter Bide Cui for the 'Spirit Away' background image.

Definitely the right thread title "Amiga inspired desktop wallpapers"

[Edit] I believe I should also credit spannernick who had the idea to start with and inspired bLAZER to do his.

Oh, and I'd like to thank my mum, the missus, the lady in the newsagent's an...........

Just saw the post about Leander on EAB and clicking on the site brought me to a banner of ... yes you've guessed it: Leander!?

That is spooky!

some really nice wallpapers, great work. love of depth of field effects (as with the hundreds of joysticks) make everything look tiny and miniaturised. might be great to render an elaborate circuitboard like that or something... Maybe a processor die or lots of CPU's. hmm.

what are you using to render these btw? they're very nice clean looking renders, I can see why they would take a long time to process.

Yeah, I had an idea about making the 68000.. didn't find that many good reference photos though.

For rendering I use Maxwell Render.

I'd really like a big print of something like that for my wall... ah, Maxwell is very nice from what I've seen, I'm a 3d artist since my first Amiga but I've never tried the unbaised rendering systems.

*edit* Well I wasn't really an artist on the amiga, unless you count funkily coloured rendered cubes, or poor dpaint illustrations... I did get better though.
