Just a bit of fun with two people who are as multi platform as myself regarding machines...

Seen you on quite a few emulation places Anna...

And back in the room and back on topic

Beta 19:

- Switching from non-lace to/from lace didn't always select correct long/short/interlace frame timing.
- SCSI CD READ TOC and READ SUB-CHANNEL returned failure instead of truncating result if command's allocation length was smaller than returned data structure.
- If cycle-exact and sound is Disabled: Force Disabled, but emulated.
- Added Preferred Technologices Nexus MEM TEST -jumper, clears autoconfig add to memlist bit.
- Removed Nexus 2M/4M/8M config options, dynamic RAM board autoconfig data modifications are now supported.
- Added Impulse FireCracker 24 display adapter emulation, single display mode only. (Display scaling and positioning incomplete and not all control register bits are known)
- Pixel perfect genlock transparency data is now available if configured display adapter needs it. (HAM-E and FireCracker 24) HAM-E end of display is now correctly detected.
- AVIOutput wave/avi mode and file name is stored in registry/ini.
- AVI recording A/V sync slowly getting larger and larger fixed. Should be perfect now in all configurations.
- Tablet touch GUI open function really works now.

(Above offtopic was quite different than usual, not going to bother with it this time...)

Hi Toni. With the latest beta (winuae_3100b19) i hear continuous loud noice when loading workbench or using floppy. This is happening when i set A500 (winUAE built-in) Floppy Drive Sound Emulation only. On previous betas everything is fine. Greetings.

Quickstart Configuration: 1.3 ROM, ECS Agnus, 512 KB Chip RAM + 512 KB Slow RAM

Running above config in WinUAE Beta 2 (2015.01.05) with SysInfo 3.24 (or 4.0) it shows "DMA/Gfx ECS AGNUS - 1Meg" !

Running above config in WinUAE Beta 3 (2015.01.11) with SysInfo 3.24 (or 4.0) it shows "DMA/Gfx ECS AGNUS - 2Meg" !?

Cheers!

Run the demo "grv-beut.lha" in DF0: until it stopped. (seems found a new AGA problematic demo!?)

Then press F12 to eject the demo from DF0: floppy.

Then mount HD archive "WFMH-SiliconGfx2.LHA" under "Select Archive or Plain File".

After pressing the Reset button in WinUAE GUI it crashes the emu really really badly !!!

(so that I do not dare to repeat the process )

Configuration file and mentioned demos in archive. (WinUAE 3.1.0 beta 18)

p.s.
Yeah, my mistake, but yet it should not crash the emu such badly, right!?

p.s.2
Btw. after running the emu again and mounting the HD archive "WFMH-SiliconGfx2.LHA" under "Select Archive or Plain File" it worked fine)(Note:type SG2 to start from CLI)

Nothing bad or interesting in that crash. Perfectly normal. (You enable UAE boot rom config without restart = not everything was initialized, invalid pointer)

EDIT: Crash fixed but I still recommend: don't do it

Last WinUAE beta version

EmuTOS
http://sourceforge.net/projects/emut...hots/20150507/
emutos-amiga-20150507.zip

Same config file and EmuTOS version is working well on WinUAE beta 10

Thanks.

It is EmuTOS bug. (I don't see how it could have run on real hardware. Or perhaps it was broken in some later version?).

Supervisor stack original value from reset vector is not set to valid value, first exception (CPU test) will cause double fault, halting the CPU. (Previously it wasn't that carefully checked)

Thank you for the answer.
Can you tell me which EmuTOS version is working with my configuration and the last WinUAE beta?

Just thinking, if maybe instead "don't do it", there could be possible to implement some routine that would check if RESET button on GUI is allowed when mounting/changing to new HD, and after mounting/changing to disable the RESET and OK button on GUI to force you to press RESTART button instead, in order to prevent such crash in future.

Cheers!

It would be more confusing and it isn't that simple to "detect" this situation.

Beta 20:

- Drive sound noise fixed. (b19)
- FireCracker 24 6-bit (R2G2B2) overlay fully emulated.
- Video-only recording is now possible. (Audio codec can be disabled by canceling audio dialog)
- Chip RAM mirroring disappeared in b3.
- Do not crash if on the fly switching from non-uae boot rom config to boot rom config.
- Bus error emulation in non-MMU mode (not really Amiga specific) didn't call do_specialties() correctly.
