bad A1200 clock port possible?

I purchased what was ment to be new rapid road usb, connected it as per documentation to the clock port checked and rechecked as I know you can blow the card up and my 1200 would not post at all, no light on the rapid road usb either

returned it to the seller with photos showing how I connected it and he claims it works fine in his did I connect it to an accelerator and is blaming my clock port

3.1 roms
aca12xx 40mhz non clock port version
indvision upscailer v2

I did notice that my clock port lines up with pin one not like in the photo here http://wiki.icomp.de/wiki/File:RapidRoad_A1200.JPG am I one of the lucky a1200 owners that had the port put in the wrong place
