Some of he demos were labelled 16:9 what exactly does this mean? Were they rendering 320x180 in the middle of the screen or something?

Demo scene in 1986: Open up the borders. Demo scene in 2019: Close the borders.
Sounds like the sign of our times. |

I was stunned by all the great Amiga productions this year and voted full points for De Profundis and EON. Haujobb's Signals was ok but did not rock as much as The last train to Danzig for instance. I liked EON the most right away but I am no expert at all when it comes to coding. But seeing such a great demo on a A500 really impressed me.

Yes, only a dream. The Amiga accelerator market of today is too fragmented for us to target one of the new boards specifically. If anything we would either target 060/50 since the real 060 boards have been made in significant numbers, or we would pick a lower common denominator that covers as many accelerators as possible.

There are more vampire users than you think. Production is not serialized as with phase5, but majsta works 24/7 to make this cards available, and now there is a solid user base.. And a demo by tbl on vampire would be an awesome killer on vampire. Anyway.. eon is fantastic.

If you aim for 060 users there is a small userbase - smaller than vampire (ok, there are emulator users too, but the bulk of them are more casual gamers).Vampire people are active amigans, and that is a big difference. Obviously a demo like Eon (for a500) is bound to a more widespread audience, that is for sure. But the final target for an amiga demo is the amiga enthusiast, this is my opinion

As I've said countless of times, if Vampire-users want Vampire-demos, then the best bet would be to start making demos themselves, rather than begging other (obviously uninterested) coders to make them for you. |

Definitely awesome demo, one of the best and top tier ofAmiga demos. I like story it tries to tell and effects it shows.

about the Demo (EON) it's one of the few demo's in recent years that, when I saw it the first time, made my say "okay this is really neat".. I like it, and it really is a great demo. Looking forward to hear more about the tech used. |
