Well, I'm at least 90% sure it's only a PD game "renamed" by some compact releasers. There was a case (search around) when I strongly doubted that BUCK ROGERS (Sega-style) exists for the Amiga. In fact it was a ripped Mission Andromeda which did not even work past the end! And YES, "Buck Rogers" was even in TOSEC with that name!

So - when he does decide against spreading the game (I could name one other guy, who said "he bought game X for such a high price" that he does not want to spread it but "keep it rare" - IMHO stubborn attitude, but everybody on their own huh ) it will be at least a comfort when he agrees on doing some scans for HOL.

Maybe it was the PD game "RSQ"?

I attached two screenshots, AFAIK the background color changes from level to level.

Maybe an email sent via his profile page might get StrategyGamer back to this thread?

I sent the PM, so who's putting their hand up to send the email?

Ok, so a friend was visiting from interstate today & he asked if I still had an Amiga setup...of course I do!

He mentions this game he used to like...I think he accidentally helped my quest without me even asking him!

Silkworm: http://hol.abime.net/1926

Now, this isn't exactly like Choplifter, but I remember it...even the strange aircraft that looks like a green goose or duck (it's in the HOL double barrel screenshot).

I reckon this can now be considered FOUND!

I'm glad the game has been found, but talk about a wild goose chase! Choplifter is nothing like Silkworm!

Forced scrolling from left to right involving picking up a few hostages in small loads and avoiding tank fire, compared with a right to left constantly scrolling shoot'em-up with weapon upgrades and big guardians including a 2 player jeep! That's some terrible memory imho!

Well, it has been almost half my lifetime...booze, buds, tabs...so memory wasn't too good I suppose!

Now this is weird. I saw StrategyGamer around in the forum yesterday and still no reply.
I'm beginning to think the guy just wanted to pull our leg...

Unlikely. Fingerlickin_B wrote him a visitor message in March, which he never answered either.

If there really WAS a commercial game called "Chopper Rescue" for the Amiga, we (HOL) would knew about it.
