@redhawk668,

Have you checked http://www.cpu-world.com/mot_masks/1/1C12R.html to see if the markings are correct in terms of speed rating?

With old parts, especially originally sourced from China, they are cleaned up and sometimes re-labelled with not so accurate markings.

You get those symptoms if the FPU doesn’t DSACK during boot... check the chip in another board if you can

I suppose this means the SPI data register is 32 bit?

@Plasmab, does this mean an SPI ROM (Flash I assume) can be programmed with a KS image and overlayed during boot? I haven't been following the entire details so perhaps I have missed the detail on this.

ok fixed the a500 now it was a CIA at fault, nut black screen booting the tf530, in both clock positions, int2 connected. Strange , will look over it all, and try reflashing.

That’s the experiment I’m hoping pays out. Watch my latest video for detailed look.

Still 8 bit for external SPI. Why did you think it would change?

Good work plasmap.

But, is there any archive anywhere where is all different firmware versions with short explanations what differences there is between?

I have working ver3 at 33MHz, no problem. But it looks to be sometimes little unstable and i am quite sure it is because of FW. But i have to be missed where all FW versions are...

Thanks

- J

Yes, i have checked out videos and wiki. Was great help as i use Raspberry for programming.

But i have found info of those FW's only from videos. There is no any other place where, for example, latest FW can be found? Or is there some hidden page in Wiki what i have missed???

edit; yes, i have forgotten one minor thing. Braches in github. My bad. Sorry and thankyou =)

You can find the RC2 firmware here: https://github.com/terriblefire/tf530/tree/spi_alpha

It is in the bin directory.

Ok, tested one of the FPU's in my A1200 with Blizzard 1220/4, worked perfectly. So, not a problem of the FPU. So, I checked my solderings on the Bus CPLD and resoldered it. FPU is working now. Shows up in Sysinfo now.

In my case the soldering on the BUS CPLD seemed OK when I checked them under a microscope, but no working FPU. Still a black screen. After reflowing the solder on all of the sides of the BUS CPLD my FPU started working. You could check your soldering and reflow it. In my case it solved the problem.

Check that CPCS is connected from the CPLD to the FPU. A missing or shorted connection will mean the FPU will never know it’s time to respond

TF530 works with Amiga 1000!

@plasmab
Turns out the TF530 works with Amiga 1000.

All you need is a Kickstart ROM. I've made an adaptor that both provides a Kickstart ROM and shifts the TF530 away from the floppy so you can (hopefuilly) close your case, possibly even retaining the shield.

[Edit] Pay no mind to the fried TF530 in the photo. It's the only one I had on hand that didn't have the angled relocator already soldered to it. Yea, I terriblefire'd it last year and haven't tossed it because I need to remove that CPU.

Wow, that's really great!!!
Also seen that You provided that info in my "For Sale" thread on Amibay, Thank you for that! I will be able to test TF on a client's A1000 very soon

That is amazing. So you just have confirmed that the issue is with the original boot ROMs crashing on 68030!

So now we would just need for someone to create an open source kickstart adapter PCB... I'd love to be able to plug this into my A1000.
