3D combat in Wings too fast
Hey guys,
Have any of you noticed that the speed of the 3D dogfight missions is a bit too fast when run via WHDload ?? I've played the game on my 1200 with (IIRC) a 030 / 40 MHz expansion. Is there any way to make the 3D dogfights run closer to A500 speed ?? |

Maybe "nommu" and/or "nocache" tooltypes will help?

You click on the game's icon 2 times to load it up, right?
So instead, now click just 1 time and select information from the up icon menu. You should see something like: "slave=wings.slave" and "preload" Both in seperate lines, so write under them "nommu" and (below again) "nocache" Save. Run game. PS: Don't mind IC, he's an emu-whore that doesn't even own an Amiga! |

Try using the ExpChip tooltype - I think that forces the game to run frm Chip memory assuming that JFF's patch allows that. |

I'm running it on an 040 and no problems here either - I'll check my tooltypes when I get home though, I may well have changed something.

EDIT: Thanks for the help guys I'll try it soon |

Just checked me A1200 with blizz030/50MHz, with those tooltypes and it didn't help at all.
But I know what you mean... in times when everybody's after more and more frames per second, we Amigants like it to be "exact as before"! ... who care's it means "slow as phack" in some cases? |

hehehe the dogfight is easier when it's "slow" ie. true A500 speed I guess I'll have to get used to "turbo-mode" hehehe
