OK, works now . 500GB in Amiga 500
Not reliable at higher speed tho. Is there anything I could do to make it more reliabe? Increase buffer or change block size (I use 4k) in 5400rpm 2.5" disk. |

I’ve always used the default block size and put the buffers at about 200 on my machines that have plenty of memory. It’s nice and fast as well as being very reliable.

Not enough information. HDReport output and hardware specs (which kind of CD32 HD controller). You can use old pfs3aio version.
Just mounting it in UAE does not really tell much except that filesystem works and it is some kind of device conflict. Did you do enough testing to confirm it was just some random glitch/bad connection etc? |

Is there size limit of Hard Disk?
500GB works but 750GB crash WinUAE. |

No. Not enough information (log and config) and too old version (no log and config embedded dump file).
Crash looks more like CD related, do not use complex configurations when testing something specific. |

Hey Toni, This is so awesome. Thanks for continuing to work on my fave AMIGA FS. I have 2 suggestions. - Large disk formats 100+ GB or TB could be PFS4 (not compatible with 3,2,1) remove the legacy crap in favour of new FS ability? People can run both side by side if required? - Got a donation link? I can't prograsm but i'd like to contribute to it's further enhancement, whatever you guys do with it in the future. |

Main problem: I am not interested in testing filesystems which means it stays "experimental" until someone really tests it. Fir example there is still possibility >1T partition may have 32 bit signed/unsigned problems somewhere. Only way to confirm is to fill the partition 100%, then read all files and check that everything is bit-by-bit same. Someone needs to write this test utility.. |

I understand. Like a bunch of really large movie files 100 GB each, with an RC5 hash on them, confirm the hash after copy to another format like NTFS? I'm not a programmer, unfortunately. I could do the hash test with TB sized drives under WinUAE ? I do appreciate the effort you put into this though Toni and I am a returning customer of WinUAE via Cloanto (What I use to this day due to slow, not well supported older real hardware) Just would like to thank you publicly for all your incredible efforts and time into the Amiga OS and community and towards it's continued use. I still continue to enjoy and use AMIGA because of your efforts. I'll go upgrade to 4x. Emulator. About time I updated anyway. Thanks again. Last edited by shades_aus; 04 December 2018 at 23:00. |

Sometimes, when I delete a directory on a PFS Partition (I use the latest PFS3AIO) it happens that a dir is not fully deleted. "Not deleted: object in use".
However, if I issue the same command for a few times, at last, everything is deleted: Excerpt from the holy scrolls of bladecgn, 2nd Millenium: Code:

guesses internally something seems to run asynchronically, holding the dir that is beeing deleted, thus preventing the dir itself to be deleted. I would kindly ask if you could look into that, please. Last edited by bladecgn; 28 February 2019 at 14:22. |

It probably is PFS3 original "feature". Question that needs an answer: does it only happen if DELDIR is enabled.

DELDIR was enabled on all my partitions.. I just disabled everything...
setdeldir HD0: 0 setdeldir HD2: 0 setdeldir HD3: 0 setdeldir HD4: 0 Let's see what will change to use ... |

Also here Deldir was enabled. I disabled it to see if it works now. This might take some time though, as the error occurs only while deleting files and only sometimes.
Nonetheless, even if this helps it still seems to be an ancient pfs3 bug. Woukld be great if this could be fixed. Last edited by bladecgn; 04 March 2019 at 08:32. |
