Pinball Illusions and hi-res problem

Hello,

I'm currently using WinUAE 0.9.92 and running pinball illusions from a cd32 image. The game works quite well until i try hi-res mode. The the ball gets black stripes through it and periodically almost disappears from screen. From time to time the top display gets a little messed up. Anyone else experienced this problem? Anything I can do to resolve it? I really miss this game, loved playing it in hi-res.

Have you ever tried 'cycle-exact' mode?
Yes, this also works in AGA mode (sort of an 'open secret'

), but as Toni Wilen (WinUAE main developer) clearly states, this is quite experimental stuff, so it may work or it may not.
Give it a try.

its hires interlaced. means only each second line gets updated every frame (an on the real thing only those lines will get displayed). But you obviously configured Winuae to display both odd/even lines, which results in ugly corruptions when scrolling horizontal.
Play around with line-mode inn the display settings, but AFAIK theres no perfect Solution.

Thanks for trying to help

I didn't find a solution, tried experimenting with both line modes and enabling 'cycle-exact' mode. The last one made uae just exit from time to time. Oh well, I guess I can get used to playing in lo-res.

I found I could alleviate this problem somewhat by matching the monitor refresh rate with that of the Amiga (50/60Hz)
