1,000 disks!

Woah! Someone on one of the local FreeCycle groups is giving away 1000 Amiga disks (he doesn't have any hardware anymore) and I emailed him.

I have to phone him this evening to arrange collection... {crossed fingers}

Boy am I going to have some fun.

Any idea what's on them?

Games/demos?

Copies/originals?

I don't have a single clue - which is going to make it more exciting picking them up... it could literally be anything... from a load of pd disks, to cracks, to originals, or maybe a whole mixed bag of them all.

The advert just said "approx 1000 amiga disks offered" so who knows...

As soon as I've got them (touch wood again) and checked them out I will be sure to post if I think there is anything rare or of note included.

Since I moved to USA I haven't seen any amiga or anything with C= mark on it for sale in local stores or garage sales etc. Not even in bargain news papers.

Lucky you!

What would be best way of getting this stuff to the PC if anything is needed?

One of those PCMCIA jobbies with a compact flash, or something else?

Here's hoping there are some gems in there.

Don't want to spoil your happy feelings, but if he just says "1000 disks", the probability of it being just copied games, ie NO originals is around 95%.

But of course it's still exciting to see what's on those disk .........

If you don't have time to sort them you can always dump them here and I will take a look - might as well make a proper session of it! LOL

Cheese and onion is the only flavour of crisps isn't it? If there are others I must have blocked them out of my memory with sheer willpower alone.

mmmmmmmmmm, Cheese and onion.

You have to be BLOODY quick with the freecycle groups here in Australia.

I missed out on a load of amiga gear, I responded in a matter of minutes of it appearing, and I was like #5. I was not happy.

Erm but how to transfer? Do I need one of those pcmcia compact flash things?

Is that the easiest course of action?

Got them out of the carrier bags now and there are a fair few disks there.

Some AM/FM(?) music diskzines, some originals (mostly football games), lots of cracks.
