If they were the same drivers your friend would be navigating in OS4.1, don't you think? This are supposed to be beta ones http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=47448

Why? Can't you open the link?

EDIT: Well, really not sure if there's any difference in the Aminet and OS4Depot versions...you are true, they seem the same, but I coudn't make it work yesterday with it, just like your friend. Perhaps I was trying with an old version.

I believe it has to be the same in Aminet, as it's 1.7
EDIT: There's something extrange with the installation, and perhaps that's why it wasn't working. After you use the install icon, copy again the prism2.device to Devs/Netwoks. I believe it installs the OS4 version with the installer automatically in OS4.1

EDIT: I've reinstalled it. I'm sure that the version in Aminet is the same, so you can use it, but you have to know two things:
- The installer won't copy pccard in libs
- The installer will copy the OS4 version of prism2

Both wrong.

That's why it wasn't working to your friend.

Ah, don't forget to comment here if you get it working now.

I surely never tried it as well. Under OS3.9 it works LIKE A CHARM though, both as a sound card and an MPEG decoder.
I'm using now the Delfina under OS4.1 and it sounds a little scratchy with Amplifier. I only copied delfinampg.device in libs, installed delfina with library v14.16 and I could hear the OS4.1 sound at the beginning.

UPPPS! I'm using now AmigaAMP3 for OS4 and all the scratching sound has disappeared. It sounds great!!!

Sorry to post twice, but this is new:

AmigaOS 4.1 Update 4 Released

Brussels, Belgium - December 22, 2011
Hyperion Entertainment is pleased to announce the immediate availability for download of Update 4 by registered users of AmigaOS 4.1 for all supported platforms.

Hyperion continues its tradition to provide regular free updates of AmigaOS 4.1 and with the festive season just days away, this is a particularly appropriate time for a free update.
Update 4 requires AmigaOS 4.1 Update 3 prior to installation.

The following new functionality and bug fixes are included in Update 4:
  • Introducing the new Emulation drawer with official AmigaOS 3.x ROMs and Workbench files. AmigaOS ROMs are provided for all classic Amiga models and the CD32 platform.
  • Added RunInUAE contribution to utilize the new Emulation drawer.
  • New scsi.device patch for Classic installations which enables SCSI drives to be used for memory paging (SWAP).
  • Added NoDriveClick utility for Classic users.
  • Added DefIcons support for RunInUAE.
  • Updated TCP/IP stack with much improved DHCP support.
  • Updated MUI with various fixes.
  • Various Workbench fixes.
  • Fixed several USB issues.
  • Fixed elf.library that could cause programs using shared objects to misbehave when unloading (e.g. Timberwolf).
Hyperion Entertainment wishes to thanks its customers for their continued support in these exciting times for the Amiga platform.

Well I'm just waiting for my AmigaOne install to backup but it's taking ages so might have to carry on tomorrow!

I can already tell you the Emulation works perfect on Sam/AmigaOne/PegII but for classics forget it, dual boot OS3.9 as the Classic PPC is too slow for e-uae

Yes, I know, that's why I ask. I had forgotten about it, but now... just interested to see if they have improved something with that.

I'm not sure why someone would RunInUAE on a Classic Amiga; the hardware you are implementing in software is already there

Steve's post above says it all:

Amiga OS 4.x uses only the PPC processor. Therefore, under Amiga OS 4.x it is not possible even to use the M680x0 processor for running Classic Amiga programs.

Hence, Classic Amiga programs must be executed in emulation written for the PPC processor (which is slow), unless youi have provision for dual-booting Amiga OS 3.9.
