However, you can create a non-standard output screenmode @50Hz with the config tool and assign that to PAL-nonlace for gaming (if your monitor supports 50Hz, that is). The output is NOT V-synced, but animation is still smooth, as most monitors don't support V-syncing anyway. Quote:
Chameleon with Minimig core has a scandoubler only, not a framebuffer, so it's V-Synced "by nature" - if you run this core in PAL mode, your monitor MUST support 50Hz, otherwise you only get an "out of range" (or similar) error message. Jens |

Thanks Jens. I was looking for a list of v-sync compatible monitors.

Since 50Hz is a standard on HDMI, it would be very useful if there was a standard setting providing a HDMI compatible 1280x720@50Hz output from the Indivision (using a DVI-HDMI converter). On many TVs, that could provide a very nice and smooth picture, better than using their SCART inputs. For Indivision Mk3, you should consider DisplayPort and FreeSync to get optimal smoothness. |

Thanks Jens for the reply
In the case of Indivision I had in mind connecting the machine to a modern PAL TV using a DVI -> HDMI adapter. Would I still have to create the output frequency config file manually? As there is no V-Synced, does it mean during panning/scrolling you get stuttering or tearing? What is the link for a list of compatible monitors please? |

indiMK2 support and bugs
kudos on the new usb board but I wonder - since this is now out of the way - will there be any real development now for the indiMK2s ?
The config tool still is problematic (timings are all over the place) , vsync is still not an option, highgfx still doesn't work properly... any updates on that coming? Last edited by keropi; 15 October 2014 at 10:03. |

In my mobo there is a resistor -in the back of the mobo-, I don't know in others. And yes, you have to solder a pin or wire to both sides of it. Easy.

HighGFX can produce garbage even with Mk1 indi, it's the A1200 not the Indivision that's at fault.
Think how hard you are pushing your chipset with such a high resolution, the Indi isn't a graphics card after all. |
