It's all a double standard, but even so, we must adhere to this policy. We don't want the legal trouble from having software/firmware with actively enforced copyrights posted on here. Many people will burn KS roms for you, just ask around.
The only thing we moderators ask is that please don't post the KS images onto the boards. The copyright owners and licensees are still very active in protecting their intellectual property. |

For completeness, I'll also mention that WB disks are also included in the ban, as are IPFs that are not explicitly allowed to be freely distributed (I would assume that if a copyright holder allowed it, so would EAB, tho).

** NEWS UPDATE **
I've been using 1MB 3.9 ROM's in my A3000/040 for 8 months now and it took me this long to realize Doobrey's "DummyCDstrap" hack does NOT provide cache enabled access to extended ROM! So if you have a 1MB ROM(s) and a 68040 or 68060 and want cache enabled for extended ROM here are a few options for you! 1) Add this command from http://www.sinz.org/Michael.Sinz/Enforcer/Enforcer.lha to user startup: MMU address $E00000 size $80000 cache noshow 2) Install MMULib from http://aminet.net/util/libs/MMULib.lha and add this to MMU-config: Setcachemode 0xE00000 size 0x80000 ROM WRITETHROUGH 3) Downgrade your 68040 or 68060 to a 68030! Enjoy! |

You can still load some system friendly games via the floppy drive after OS.4.x has loaded. I just want someone to try to see if 1Mb roms work. |

thanks fol but i didn't find it yet.
And i still have a problem when i use my fresh enhanced kickstart, winuae doesn't want to save my choice of kickstart and comeback to kick3.1. And it's a problem, because i changed amikit accordingly to make it work with these enhanced kickstarts. Why winuae doesn't allow to save my choice ? |

It might but I kinda doubt it...
Under WinUAE: - Using a custom 1MB ROM gives a delay of about 10secs if you use a specific chipset (like A600 for example). Using "generic" chipset loads fast without delay. - Using a normal 512KB ROM loads just fine and fast both with specific or generic chipset. |

i used 1mb 512+512, and i have nodelay.
And i think there is an extra boost during the boot time with amikit. i tested with a1200 specific chipset and then you have a big delay. with a4000 or generic nodelay. Last edited by prowler; 08 October 2013 at 23:51. Reason: Back-to-back posts merged. |

Normal 3.1+ 30s IDE detection delay.
No delay if mismatched driver and IDE hardware or "generic" which have fake hardware that is designed to be immediately rejected by IDE driver. |
