The obligatory cannot access wah wah wah post from me. (Guessing Off Topic doesn't count in the post in the last five days search )

Well now it says I need 100 posts or more...

Can you make me an account when you have a moment please Turran.

1 login all the time.. and 1 transfer at at time.. Not a big time, just curious as to why this happens since u can disconnect from browsing dir and start transfer "immediately"

I'll test this from another client and see if i get same result

...but, but, you have "1,892" posts to your name Ian so none of the rules should affect you... except possibly (as you've mentioned):

b) Your last post must not be older than 5 days ago.

"Off Topic" posts don't mean jack on EAB, create 10 now and you'll see that your post count will not go up

Maybe Turran has decided not to allow anyone in with the name "Ian"; I would have definitely done the same really; too common

I think the above rule is a little harsh.. Maybe not posted in a month or two

Who knows but the above post made me have a post in the last five days, which is when the message changed to must have more than 100 posts lol.

Yeah, agreed... 5 days is too short, we all go missing from time to time hey Bipstar

...the more important thing is that you've been an active member on EAB so post count is what really counts as proof of that.

Let's be honest, "100 posts" isn't many really... If a new user posted say 3 per day, he / she would have full "EAB File Server" privileges in just over a month.

@Turran; could you please increase to "Your last post must not be older than 1 month ago." and I'll amend all notfications afterwards?

Muchas gracias Amigo

I'm not worries about my access haha.. I have 120gb of unsorted Amiga stuff already.. I am thinking of long standing members who are active still.. But a post per month once satisfying the 100 posts is reasonable.

Thing is, once you register and are successful, that's it, you're there for life

...so, even if you haven't posted in the past 5 days but have over 100 posts to your name and fail on registration; all you need to do then is create a post; then try re-registering again and this will go through

Still think it's worth changing to a month though.

Ok then, like I've done numerous times over the years, run everything through the latest TOSEC .DATs and upload anything missing to the TOSEC FTP for the good of the community

Schnell, schnell i.e. faster, faster... you never know, you may have Akira's long / lost Tetris game in your files; hahahahaha

The only reason that rule is there is so that you can not easely steal someone elses EAB forum name. There are over 5000 registered accounts and its quite easy to just register someone elses name by just looking that the member list + forum posts, but its not as easy to find someone who is active out of those 5000 users.. Thats why its set to 5, just to prevent identity theft...

Still want me to change it and I will. As said before, you da boss.

You can't add it yourself now? I have to ask modrobert why Ian does not appear then as you have more than enough posts..
Ian, you can PM me the password you want and I'll add it manually for now.

Code:
# ./eab_post_count.py -i -u Ian
User not found: Ian

Yes, you can add up to 10 IPs to an account and only those IPs can log in. Does not really help us if its the end user at HOL that connects and need their IPs added =)

Or what did you have in mind?
