A1200 Resetting
I had posted about this a little while ago and someone told me that simply re-seating some parts is what stopped my A1200 resetting itself.
Now it's doing it again but intermittently. I have noticed too on the workbench screen that the little window square to flick between Workbench windows flickers every few seconds. I rang up a local Australian Amiga repairer (for whom told me he no longer does Amiga repairs) and he told me it sounds like I needs my Caps replaced. My configuration is an original 1992 Commodore A1200 with an 030, 16meg fast, IDE Buffered Interface & 70gig HD. Does anyone know of a local Amiga repairer in Melbourne? or what may be wrong with it? |

It could well be capacitors. Graphical glitches like that are usually either a patch that's misbehaving or electrical noise. The latter can be a result of failed capacitors or a bad power supply (which itself could have bad capacitors)
Another possibility is that something is overheating, in which case one of the chips would be hot to the touch instead of just the usual warm feeling they have. |

Thanks for the feedback Daedalus, I used to be quite a regular on EAB but since I no longer am I don't get anywhere near the response I got when I was. So it's greatly appreciated
I'll pick up a 2nd hand A500 off Ebay first and see if it's the PSU that's the problem, thanks again |

I found the cause of it guys, it was merely a frayed wire in the cord leading into my 6 plug Power Board that the Amiga, Monitor and Speakers were plugged into.
I change Power Boards and all was well A simple and cheap fix to a problem, thank f#@k for that |
