Thumbs up Greetings from Wales

Finally! My youngest has moved out, giving me some extra space and time!

So I've just dragged out my A1200 to sit proudly next to my C64 downstairs after sitting in a drawer safe for around 16 years. Opened it up and checked it over and it all seemed fine, including the Apollo 030 card and 1Gb internal HD I installed in the mid 90's.

Fired it up and it works! I do have one little issue with screen resolution which I'll post about in a separate thread, but I'm looking forward to using it again, including browsing through my mod and DPIII folder to listen/look at my old music/images as well as digging up my old AMOS and BB2 code.

That's exactly how it is. We just put on the language for the tourists.

I'm from North Wales though, there does seem a divide, most in the north, certainly the touristy parts, speak English exclusively. (I was born in St Asaph and only lived in Wales for a year as my mum had to move for work at the time)

However, when I've been on holiday to mid and south wales most seem to speak it.

Its a nice language though and funny when they think you don't under stand, which I don't, but throw in the odd bore da and they soon shut up

Welcome! I grew up in Pembrokehsire as young child before my dad changed jobs but did go to study in Aberystwyth as always enjoyed living in Wales.

Great to hear your A1200 is still working, although sounds like it may not have had the capacitors changed if been in storage a while. Would recommend investigating that to give you many more years of enjoyment ahead!
