Rising above even Moby's, Tip&Mantronix's, 4-Mat's, Romeo Knight's, Jogeir's and all the others'...
...THIS is the BEST soundtrack module EVER made! (The mega-mighty: Dr Awesome's *Space Deliria*) (What "not objective"? What "lacking perspective"? No need for perspective, I'm DEAD objective!! ) |

I need to second SunChild's opinion - mod.spacedel by Dr.Awesome really *is* the best Amiga module ever!
I also really like: mod.memorydust by Codex mod.organ dreams (dunno by who, couldn't find it on AMP. Can be ripped from Celtic's Plasmatronic intro) also, the tune from Andromeda's Suffocation demo and of course the tune from Phenomena's Enigma demo. Sorry, too lazy to look up the module titles for those. Any that I've ever included in a Retro intro is one that I liked. Especially mod.retro from Sinusitis made especially for me by Yerzmyey/AY Riders which I'm pretty certain won't be available anywhere but from me, although it can be ripped of course. There's more and I could go on and on but it might get boring... |

Anything by Archon is likely to be excellent, as well as most mods by Heatbeat, Delorean, Reflex (Rebels France musician, very under-rated in my opinion)...

Another very good tune is Dreamweaver's "A king is born". Used in Aurora's excellent Dreamscape demo which was coded by Dreamweaver too.

There's so many good module that it's hard to list them here. And there's also lot of "unknown jewels" that's why i would suggest you to listen to BitJAM Radio you can also vote for a music listen, add some comments, request some music... direct link for streaming BitJAM Streaming

It's certainly hard to pick just one. I'll probably pop for starworx by 4mat as this was the first mod I listened to again and again and again. I really like a lot of WOTW's tunes too. Can't beat chip tunes

Some other nice suggestions there aswell I must admit. Special mention to WayneK for suggesting Heatbeat, Delorean & Reflex! These guys really ruled! And to Alexh for naming Radix! Radix used to be one of my top3 fav... Actually prolly still is. More famous names to be revered along with some of their finest moments: - Nuke aka Spaceman (/Anarchy) - Filipetto (/Savage, if you like Funky/Groove/Jazzy, unconventional tunes, a bit like Heatbeat actually) - Random Voice (/Symbiosis) - Time Traveller (/Cryptoburners, especially the tune "Blue Stars" from the old /It/ Party invitation demo) - Rhesus Minus (/Cryptoburners, yes there was more than just the mighty Walkman to the Cryptos ) - Dizzy (/?, I believe this guy could track any kind of music with Protracker!!! A technical genius of sorts) - Marillion (/Rebels, check out his "Blue House" demo track (for instance)!) - Jerry (/Rebels) - Starbuck (/Spreadpoint, I guess everybody have heard his module "Tennis" from the "Wooow" demo, right?) - Nightlight (/Kefrens) - Jason (/Kefrens, especially "Minimum penetration" and "Mental Insanity" are amazing) - Lizardking (/many I guess...) - Doh Spirits, later just Doh (/Dreamdealers, french tracker, made a shitload of wonderful chiptunes) - Chrylian (/Dreamdealers, another very nice french artist!) - Romeo Knight (/RSI, did I really need to even mention him? Perhaps the most famous musician on the scene @ one point along with Dr Awesome & Uncle Tom) - Bit-Arts (also of legendary Red Sector MegaDemo fame, and NOT ONE of his tunes is a filler! Nothing but great hits, he's severely underrated!!!!!) - Jesper Kid (/The Silents, "Caroline" from the "End of Maloy" demo is one of my fav from him) - Audiomonster (/Delight, I think... French guy, went on to compose music for games like many other talented guys in the scene) - Clawz (/Bomb, yet another great but little known french talent -- I guess Moby was soo amazing he overshadowed everybody else from my homecountry, ha ha) Oh, and while many from 4-Mat are absolute gems, for some reason I always felt a soft spot for the one used in "Hardcore" demo. Same comment about Tip&Matronix "JoyRide" demo track, and their module "Overload" used in a Rebels(?) 2nd part demo I think. And finally, if you like Jester's frantic dancing style, forget about Elysium, Stardust Memories and all the more well-known tunes by him: his very best in this particular style was (inexplicably) used in a mostly unknown and totally harmless production (some kind of coop intro between Panic and Rebels if IIRC), tune title: "Whisper-My-Thoughts", and boy does this one RULE!!!! Now if you're not too adamant about strictly Amiga golden days era and MOD files exclusively, I do believe very seriously that no musician using any tracker program to this very day could ever top Carl Larsson aka Nightbeat pieces (http://amp.dascene.net/detail.php?de...ules&view=5350). Even Awesome (Victor Vergara) whose "Ancient Memories" is often considered the best piece of tracking music ever made, don't come close in terms of sophistication and variety of styles. Just my two cents here of course... Last edited by SunChild; 28 January 2011 at 02:59. |

Not protracker, but can be played with DeliTracker:
SATELL.S3M (Satellite one) THX.Electric City THX.I know THX.Time_in_the_Valley THX.Tous in the Attic mods-post.zip Use Delitracker's headphone note player to get rid of the nasty stereo separation. Last edited by Thorham; 08 October 2015 at 13:47. |
