AAA Chipset in software?

What would the chances be of a AAA chipset implementation in software. I think Team Vampire mentioned a while ago that they would like to reach a goal like that eventually. Couldn’t something like this just be added to WinUAE? Am I just being an idolized dreamer?

In theory AAA could be incoporated as part of WinUAE, but then why would you want that?

There is absolutely zero software ever made for it.

I guess it could be interesting as an alternative history project. I kind of see what would have been achievable at the time had that project not been scrapped

Right and maybe it would encourage developers to make new software for it. Old time developers might return to try out developing for the new features.

Is really requirements for making software for not existing hardware when You can use RTG instead when original chipsets are not enough?

What features have this AAA which RTG not have?

What hardware and documentation should this emulation be based upon?

I'm sure Toni will get right on to adding AAA to WinUAE as soon as he's got Lorraine and Ranger emulation finished.

No specs, no hardware, no software: no sense.

Emulators are made to run existing software. Not the other way around.

How about just an RTG P96 Monitor driver called AAA, and a menu item in WinUAE for Graphics Board:AAA. I think this achieves everyone's goals.

Don't forget the Blazemonger Monitor driver too!

No added value - AAA if egver exist for real would be a dead end for Amiga graphics... just few interesting features (32 bit Copper with more functionality, perhaps HAM10, above this nothing special) + whole bunch of complicated circuitry.

Team Vampire seem to love twisting the meaning of words.
Their advertising is misleading.
Now they're focused on Atari at the moment.
They'll probably try to do consoles next.

People shouldn't bother with them anymore. There are other dev-boards that are cheaper and will do the same thing.

Now that's a good attempt at derailing this thread.

It's not going to be implemented in WinUAE because it never existed. And yet, I have to read about another misleading claim from Apollo that they're planning on AAA. They must of named themselves after the comedy club.

Didn't they archived that goal already with SAGA?

Because SAGA is an enhancement to AGA. As far as i understasd it's different to RTG. (but i haven't read too much about it)

Why would AAA be of any use?

I can't deny the AAA board looks fascinating. Completed but never produced...

AAA was still supposed to be backward compatible, was it not? So exisitng software should work with it no?

An FPGA implementation sounds cool, I know I'd try it out of there was ever a Vampire core with AAA. But hey, there's a big gap between 'I think it sounds cool' and 'someone should spend their time doing it'
