Cheers warfalcon but your news story only just appeared (damn you Global Mods, not approving interesting news immediately <joking my friends>)...

"Indie Retro News" posted the heads-up in this thread and we sniffed it out on the Flashtro website

warfalcon / Flashtro; you guys have trained all games / versions in the Sqrzx series except one:

... Sqrxz v1.0 (2012)(Retroguru)[t +4 Flashtro].adf
... Sqrxz v1.2 (2012)(Retroguru)[t +4 Flashtro].adf
... Sqrxz 2 - Two Seconds Until Death v1.0 (2012)(Retroguru)[t +5 Flashtro].adf
... Sqrxz 3 - Adventure for Love v1.0 (2015)(Retroguru)[t +7 Flashtro].adf
... Sqrxz 4 v1.0 - Cold Cash (2016)(Retroguru)[t +6 Flashtro].adf

There also a "Sqrxz v1.3 (2012)(Retroguru).adf", grab it from phx's website here: http://www.sqrxz.de/sqrxz/

Would be cool if you had time and trained that also since it's the latest version of the first game

Aye, these games just ooze class! I have a physical copy of Sqrxz 3 (thanks for sending Joe Maroni if you're reading mate! ), and it's the most compact quality box release I've ever seen on the Amiga

@DamienD
You're such a cheeky retrogaming monkey - I don't know where you get the time mate!

Agreed, phx has done and excellent job with these and "Solid Gold"

As mentioned in his "Sqrx4" thread I only really discovered all these after my long absence from EAB / anything Amiga related: http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=1078545&postcount=7

@DamienD
Well, I'm sure since you've asked so nicely (and threatened decapitation with the guillotine), that your wish will be granted!

@all
BTW peeps, like Sqrxz 3 at release, you can buy a physical copy of Sqrxz 4 by sending the devs an email through the website! For those interested, click the contact link at the top of the game description on the support webpage:

I have to say that this Flashtro release is not approved by Retroguru. They got a prerelease, and we had a deal that the trained version has to be delayed for some time after the official release on the Retroguru site.

I hope this was a misunderstanding, otherwise it was certainly the last prerelease from us.

Oh that's not good news at all phx and I'm saddened to hear this

Flashtro should definitely honour the agreement that you made with them

That sucks.

But the game is officially released now? I mean, it was first meant to be released on GameCon. But instead the official release was with the Amiga Future this month?

I mentioned in another thread how I thought it was strange that the game was available from the Flashtro site, but not the game's official website. I hope for both your sakes that it was, indeed, a misunderstanding!

Any word on when the official release will hit the Retroguru website, and when physical copies of the game will be available? On the back of the impressive compact packaging of Sqrxz 3 (), I sent an email earlier today via the website expressing interest in getting hold of a physical copy of Sqrxz 4 too.

Not really. It was an exclusive prerelease on the Amiga Future CD. We wanted to hold the release on www.sqrxz.de back for some time, to help them sell some more mags. So the Flashtro release hurts the Amiga Future more than us.

There is no official statement yet. I can only say that I sent Shahzad (the project manager) the V1.1 image yesterday on request. I would guess that it happens until August (latest). V1.1 has minor bug fixes (e.g. when setting volumes to zero in the options menu).

This might take even more time. I remember that Shahzad has not enough money for it, until September. And it isn't clear whether the package will be the same as with Sqrxz3.
