dms to adf problems

Just got a bunch of old amiga scene cd's with a lot dms releases on them. But while using the trusty?

xdms 1.3 most of the files converts fine to 880 sized adfs, but some will be 891 in size! shouldn't an adf just be 880 as standard. Very strange, it's just a few of them though, but anyhow.. could it be that these dms files has somekind of banners, viruses or anything else like that inside?? Help with this would nice

The standard disk image is 880
Disks with copy protection will make the adf bigger

Disks with copy-protection will not be DMS'd, though. xdms is a far from perfect tool, as is dms2adf, although I've had more success with the latter. When it fails, I undms from an AmigaDOS shell. If it still fails then, the DMS file is knackered.

yep, undms:ed a couple of them with dms 1.11 on the real amiga... and the same thing. The images work in winuae though any how... Tosec named some of the as [o] overdumped i assume... so ' i'll just keep 'em that way then.. it was only about 20 files from every cd, so i'll gues i'll still will have more adf's than i'll ever use in this life at least

Yep, sounds like overdumped... Like those demo files that were available in...what was the name of the site... Trantor's Amicrypt? or was it Warlock's?
