Swords and Galeons

I am still looking for comlete diskrip for the game "Swords and Galleons"!!
I think there is no download available.
If you try to rip the music, you will think, its absolutly simple, any ripper recognize the Protracker mods.
But, if you listen to the music you can hear, there is something wrong with some mods.
The complete rip has 7 mods, especially with mod1, mod3, and mod5 is something wrong.
I am not sure, if the samples are trashed on the disk, or if some samples are corrupt, its also possible, that the infos in the songdata about the sample size are wrong.
I would be very grateful, if anybody have a look at the disks.
Maybe anybody have the skill.

Thank you all for the efforts, i hope there is nothing wrong with the samples(corrupted).
I have also tried to find IPF-images for comparing purpose, but i was not succesful.

Ripped them off 'n' I miss Mod3 but I get a Mod8. Gonna run them through protracker to see what they sound like through that 'n' if they sound OK I'll re-name them and re-save them.

Just checked the first one 'n' checked the sample that was causing the funny noise and it does look like the sample has been garbled at the end. Check it yourself Mod1 Sample 3 (KRISTALFLUTE be the name of the sample)

I've just cut off the garbled stuff 'n' it seems OK, wonder if the length was reported longer in ExoticRipper than what it really was.

btw. This is not really a solution, I will have a closer look tomorrow.

I may of cracked it.

It seems to be the sample KRISTALFLUTE in them all that appears to be buggered. So, if this is in another mod I'll be able to replace it with the good one, then things should play normally, hopefully.

The Kristalflute sample is also in mod5, but the problem is the size of the sample is different.

Hmmm. Jack the Ripper has exactly the same outcome. Wonder if it was damaged in the cracking process.

Do they actually play OK in the game?

If i remember right, in the game one of the corruptd mods sounds ok, but i have not played the whole game, so i was not able to hear all mods.

Well based on that, I would say the sample is strangely being destroyed by the ripping process. I've got a few more thing to try so I haven't given up yet.

Ok, just basing my assumptions on MOD.game1, which is on both disk 1 and disk 3. The one on disk 3 is wrong too but the "garbage" is shorter. I suspect a problem on the disk. BUT, since it's strictly the same for Quartex and EP versions, I'd guess it's at the master level. Now, how can MOD.game1 sound "right" when playing ? (I did , well, it doesn't in fact. Try to mem rip it, it's the one being played right at the beginning (when there's a boat to move, etc..). Then put that in your Cool Edit Pro (or the like) editor, you'll see a clear cut'n'replace where the garbage was. The end of the sample is thus another one, the end of a guitar or something. So, no, even the game is wrong. Now what ?
I've "cool edit"-ed the disks and there's no other part with samples which are usable. Or so that's my quick analysis. Might be wrong.
I, too, will have a look later. This week-end, most probably

Going to rip it with Action replay direct from memory. If the sample, KRISTALFLUTE, is OK from that I'll just save it out and import it in over the other samples in the other mods 'n' see if that works. Of course we'll probably be guessing on the sample repeat point if it has one.

Mod1 working fine, but as you said the sample sizes are different in the other mods so when I've imported the Kristalflute sample it definitely doesn't sound right

Ok, seems to be a real problem with this mods.
In the past, i have also tried to reconstruct the "kristalflute" sample, but i dont know anymore, if i was succesful.
If i remember right, the lost part of the sample is located somewhere on disk.
Maybe i was able to rebuilt the sample, sounds ok.
But as i have said, i am not sure enough, because i dont know, if i have cutted at the right position.
And by the way, i have also tried to find this sample in other "Idea" productions, but its not used by any other mod.
