Mmmm kind of an odd game, never played it before.

Like how it features several different brands and parts of other platformers, you don't get that nowadays with all these copyrights laws.

Bad score, but my first time playing it.

Upside down levels are one of the worst ideas ever.

Found this quite a dull game way back, still hasn't changed my opinion. Enjoying 20 mins or so but I don't think I'll be coming back to improve my score!

Looks like I got 440200. Bit hard to see.

This game is rubbish. Dull, sprawling and empty levels that are big for the sake of it rather than out of necessity, too many leaps of faith, 'UP' TO PIGGING JUMP and the comedy 'fake' exits that send you back to the start of the level complete with enemies and objects reset (don't score leech by repeatedly picking the wrong one, incidentally - but all the same good luck picking the right one sometimes, it's pure guesswork initially).

Did better 2nd time round, didn't quite figure out how to defeat the bear boss, I hit it on the head once, but everytime I hit it there again it didn't do anything except hurt me. Not very clear where you're meant to hit it.

Agreed Graham. Surprised you carried on for so long to find out. Got rated so well, never did see the appeal. It has a certain charm but that's not from the gameplay.

Mmmm better this time, just to warn you, the area I'm in is probably meant to be a bonus, but seems more like a deathtrap to me. :P

Had 4 lives and 4 health when I entered the 'bonus', lost it all and gained about 30k...

Come on EAB'ers, surely we can do better than this.

As in first EVER play? I'm surprised at how many people have never played this, I was (wrongly it appears) under the impression that Robocod was an Amiga classic.

I have still never played it at all. Dont think i will get the chance to this round either.

The title and the graphics do make it look like a silly kids game, perhaps thats why its not that popular?

To be fair though, sod whether it looks like a "kids game" or not (and I am perfectly happy to admit I enjoy loads of games that consist more or less entirely of primary colours), it doesn't matter. It was an undeniably very popular game that sold well and got very good reviews. My main gripe is that it appears to have been designed by somebody who doesn't have much of a grasp on what makes a good game.

Clearly though the competition players weren't its target market

I know it was famous in the early 90's, but have no idea why. I have never played the Amiga version (not even for this round yet!), but did play it (or James Pond 1) on the Acorn Archemedes at school - they rarely let us play games, but when they did it was great fun (usually it would be Lemmings or James Pond that folks would bring in).
