SaferPaches not works with SystemPatch

Hi,

I changed PatchControl to use SaferPatches, but for some reason the system hangs at the boot when startup-sequence loads SystemPatch 3.3 beta (or all other versions too).

You guys can say if this happens only on my system? And what can I do to use them together? Or else I should use to PatchControl again...

I remember once ditching SaferPatches, just don't remember the reason....but there was one!

I currently use PatchControl myself...maybe someone could explain in more detail what this proggy really does?

On my A1200 040 AGA 3.1, SystemPatch3.3 beta works with Saferpatches and Patchcontrol.

Maybe wrong launch order in S-S is responsible, or different options help. Do run SystemPatch with all patches deactivated? If yes, you can find out which patch make problems by activateing patch groups and/or single patch.

Don't use the wrong version of SaferPatches!
Only the version from Thomas Richter works correctly (and can be used with SystemPatch too):

Hmm. Thats it! I was using http://aminet.net/package/util/misc/SaferPatches.

Hey, can this false SaferPatches be a virus?

No it's not a virus, it's just an older version of SaferPatches written by another author. And maybe, it has some more bugs. But every programmer makes mistakes, like me too, and nothing is perfect.
