A-EON Technology Ltd is pleased to announce a new version of PPaint 7.3c for Classic OS3 and OS4.
New users: you can purchase Personal Paint download from the official PPaint.com website or AMIStore App Store. The boxed edition can be purchased directly from Amiga Kit Amiga Store. Existing users: The update is free download for registered users of version 7.3 from Updater tool or Amisphere.com website. Changes for this new version against 7.3b: Feature additions: * Add polygon mode to grab brush tool. * Update Itialian translation (contributed Luca Longone) Bug fixes: * Fix long filename support. * Fix buffer overflows in brush scaling. * Fix buffer overflows in brush shearing. * Extend internal brush structure to include shear status values so that when shearing brush twice in a row is starts from the current sheared state and not the original brush state. * Fix incorrect calculation of visible files in builtin requester resulting in an occasional corrupt looking filename at end of file list. (personal_req.library 1.11) * Fix (work around) extra spacing in thin gadget mode that left areas of uncleared disabled hatching when certain gadgets were enabled (button and tickbox). personal_req.library 1.12 * Fix single pixel brush "sticking" in MATTE mode after using a custom brush. * Fix positioning of flood / fill pointer hot spot. We would like to thank Amiga Developer team member, Andy Broad for his hard work on this update. We would also like to thank our beta testers for their valuable feedback. |

Hi AmigaKit - Just a couple of questions. First, is there an extensive user guide included i the CD? One the teaches how to use the application? Second is probably a no brainer but the files can be copied off CD to install? I don't have a CD on my Amiga but can easily transfer files to it. (A500 with vampire v2+). Saved the links and may pick this up sometime soon. I just never knew how to use PP's extensive features so a manual is a must for me. Can probably find one for an older version on-line however with new features and all..

Why not make a backup iso, and transfer that to the Amiga, mount it and install from there?

Hello Buddies,
is there a PPaint-Manual in the Download Version and/or the CD-Version? |

In both versions there's an AmigaGuide version of the manual, which is pretty good.

Thank you. I bought Personal Paint 7.3c for my Amiga 1200 on CD and downloaded after the registration the lha-File.
In the lha-File i find the PPaint-Folder. How do i install it? The AmigaGuide talks about a "Utility-Folder" in which an Installer should be. In the 68K-Version of PPaint 7.3c is no such folder. |

Hi
It runs directly from the drawer in the archive. No installation is necessary. Thanks. |

OK. Thank you. :-)
Let me ask a Dummie-Question. This is the fullversion and no update version that i must copy over an older version, right? Last edited by SID-6581; 06 June 2019 at 11:03. |

Trying out 7.3c, using the tutorial.txt:
Under Gradient fill, it mentions RGB and HSB. Shouldn't it be RGB and HSV? When I choose to set the color position 02 (the third) to "HSB 137, 100 and 46, respectively" it doesn't get dark green as expected. That the palette in 3.1.4.1 is set to Magic WB colors doesn't affect PPaint when it is run on its own screen, right? The PPaint screen have 16 colors that looks okay, it is when I start to change them that the result isn't as the tutorial promises. Another problem: When I type text, it's invisble. At least I haven't set the text color to the same color as the background. Edit: found a HSV to RGB converter: https://www.rapidtables.com/convert/...sv-to-rgb.html Okay, "HSB" in tutorial.txt should be HSV. And the correct values should be: RGB: 0, 117, 33. that gives: HSV: 137, 100, 46, just as the tutorial says. But if I START with the HSV values (called HSB in the tutorial) the RGB values are calculated with totally different values. Did I just find a bug? Last edited by duga; 13 April 2020 at 20:00. |

Bug (mentioned above) confirmed: exists in 7.3c but not in 7.1c.
A related problem is that I get garbled graphics in 7.3c but not in 7.1c. It reminds me a lot of the problem I have with garbled graphics in iBrowse 2.5.2 when placing pictures in fast mem, which doesn't happen with iBrowse 2.4. Systems: A1200 AGA OS 3.1.4.1 ACA1221 A1200 AGA OS 3.9 Blizzard 1230 MkIV (Same problem with 7.3c on both systems) |

It would be "fun" if someone else could try 7.1c and 7.3c on a AGA machine.
In the mean time I'm waiting for the developer to answer my bug report. Last edited by duga; 22 April 2020 at 00:12. Reason: Spelling |

I'd personally like to see some explicit OS4 build screenshots, and if it can run in a window on the Workbench screen instead of using its own screen.
