Why would you not just spend $50 on the 16bit adapter for your 4x? Its a great affordable programmer that does pretty much everything you can think of.

Yes, I already have the 16-bit adapter, but the Wellon is higher than burning directly interested UV EPROM.

Test TTL/CMOS logic ICs and Dynamic/Static Random Access Memory devices.
And besides burning directly 27C400 and 27C800 without any adapter.

Wellon VP-390 160€ including ship.

16 Bit EPROM Adapter for GQ-4X 26€ plus shipping cost

True-USB PRO GQ-4X Willem Programmer 84€ plus shipping cost

Although it costs more interested in the fact use it without an adapter and then IC Test TTL (74 series)

Your both suckers i use my tl866a or tl866cs cheaper than both programmers but it does need an adapter. I posted the pinout on a blog and a guy in the uk beat me to producing the pcb's on Facebook. Lol i bet he got a surprise when i asked him if he used my pinout lol. (That will teach me to be slow) he felt bad enough he posted me a free pcb as i still hadn't got any produced (only did the layout in altium designer)

I bought my 4x in Canadian dollars last year, anything in euros is insanely expensive for us Aussies!

Hey everyone,
Just a question. Could I use a 27C322 4mb chip? I can just mirror the combined rom file till it is 4mb in size to fill it.
Its just I have a stack of these and saves me order from China.
Also on how this works. Pin 1 is A18. How is this controlling the rom?
Other methods I have seen use pin 12 high and low to change the rom.

Pull up the datasheet for the 27C322 and the 27C400.

- is your part a 16 bit part? -> if not, forget about it
- does it need to have a pin tied high or low to select 16 bit operation? -> do that
- how well do the pinouts match? -> potentially you can just leave any extra pins hanging out of the socket, else you need to solder up a personality module
- tie the unneeded address lines to ground

Video tutorial on my youtube channel

I have done a detailed video of this procedure on my youtube channel. It is demonstrated on an A500 r6, but will be very similar on others. It includes hints to some of the troubles associated with the burning procedure. Hope this helps:
