Current market value of classic Amigas

I was wondering if there is a list of the current market value for Amiga systems (and I don't mean the extortionate prices some people pay on ebay) - similar to what is on everymac.com.

Not that I know of. The problem is that prices do heavily fluctuate and that ebay is the only clear indication, even prices on say amibench are influenced by ebay prices. Maybe you could take a look at the recent items sold on amibench to get some figures?

The last Retro Edge magzazine had some prices for various items but again it is open to speculation. I knwo that an A500 in the UK is almost worthless. Only fully boxed and perfect condition machines sell for any thing over £5-10.

No-one buys Amiga's at bootfairs anymore in the UK as far as I can see. Not even me. Ive passed up quite a few A500's and an A1200's. all were £5.
Its just so much effort carting the lot back to the car and then testing it when I get home.

Every other computer/console at the bootfair has usually been bought up by the hordes of dealers by half seven. Its quite a battle I can tell you.

Well here's a mission for ya: nab up every Amiga you find and those in working order you can sell abroad to those who can't find Amigas anywhere. I think yoru zone might be lucky but that is definitely NOT a worldwide situation, I don't think it's that much Uk wise (have you scoured ALL of the UK?).

I mean, if you guys really have them in so much abundance, why is no one buying them and selling them for more somewhere else like ebay?

500s and 2000s aren't impossible to find in the US; they rarely(if ever) show up in secondhand stores where I live, but if you go through Craig'sList or a user group they rarely top $40 unless the former owner's on crack or it's a Toaster-ized 2000. 1000s are pretty much only kept around as curiosities and they fetch somewhat less money.

However, if you want a 3000, 600 or anything AGA prepare for eBay-assisted assrape.

Sounds good... £5 plus postage would probably work out a reasonable deal for an A1200... hell, I'll double your money... £10!

A1200's always go for more on ebay, A500s are largely redundant. You can usualy pick up a A600 for around £15 inc P&P on ebay, which is good for a starter system.

Blizzard's and expansion boards are the most lucrative item requiring a bank visit if won.

Good idea Akira, and this can be done legally I presume.

Would I still have to pay the 50% imports tax? But then I wouldn't be over the US$300 limit (or whatever it is).

In fact as long as I can prove that these were purchased for < £10 each by getting a receipt I can bring 100 on my next trip

300 pesos each at least, no ?

yay! I have a 600 with HD (wait - did'nt they all have HD's) and a 1200 with HD and RAM expanded to four meg I believe... and I'm pretty skint. This is almost enticing me to think of selling them

I think my A2000HD with 286 bridgeboard was $30 + shipping on ebay (great condition but no keyboard or mouse and the HD controller didnt have ram). I find that people want alot more then $40 on newsgroups for 2000's.

A500's are dirt cheap even here in the US on ebay, but any of the HD addons cost a fortune!

A1200's can be found at $80 or more bare.

3000/4000 are not worth the trouble in the US, along with 2000's with toasters.

Nope. Only the A600HD came officially with a (20 or 40MB) HD, although some 3rd party dealers also sold them with HDs. Most 600s were sold without a HD to keep the cost down (£399 at release time, bare - £499 with an 20MB HD and £639 with a 40MB disk). All 600s have an IDE connector on the motherboard though, and can easily take 1 (or even 2) 2.5" HD(s) if they are thin enough.

Damn

I can tell I JUST can't find Amigas here in Brazil. When one pop ups (And thats very rare), the price is just absurd. I have never seen an A500 being sold, but the cheapest VANILLA A600 with NO HD was US$ 135

Now A4000s are the most common to find (And still rare as hell), and those go for prices around US$ 1500-2500 ....

I wish I could get an A500 ... I have no working Amiga today, and I would be happy with an A500 that could play my old games....

Ofcourse at Xmas prices on ebay go through the roof. I sold a normal A500 with monitor for £80 a few years ago. So if you need the cash...

AMIGA PLUS magazine

German AMIGA magazine AMIGA PLUS does have some kind on index every month showing "prices" or values of AMIGA items.

I assume these are calculated from Ebay prices...

Good grief....

I have

A1200 vanilla. Must ebay it ;-)

A1200 in tower case, with 060 card and PC-ISA expansion board, SCSI, ethernet, and other stuff

B2000, with G-Force030/40Mhz, 8MB 32-bit RAM, 8MB(?) fast RAM, FAT agnus, ICD FFV, Picasso-II, GVP Multi-IO, GG2+ Bridgeboard, SCA-II internal, 120mb HD and tape streamer on cant remember what SCSI controller (Nexus or Supra, perhaps both still in there), external DAT and CD-ROM, HD floppy.

A4000 with Warp Engine 040 (40Mhz?) 32 (or 64?) MB RAM on warp, SCSI HD on warp, CD-Rom on another cant-remember SCSI card, Zorro ethernet card (not ariadne, bought from Eyetech), Cybervision 64/3D and EZ-VGA with scandoubler on C64.

And a couple of spare SCSI cards knocking about... there again, I still have an original C64 and 1541 (not the C64c or 1541-II), a Commodore PET, TRS-80, Video Genie, and even an original Atari VCS....
