I had no issues with my CSMKII X-Surf100/RR A4KD Rev B Buster 11 miggy....

Surely a fresh install is worth a go?

Copy your current Boot partition as it is to another partition & in it's own folder, like a manual back up....

Make sure you have an OS3.9 Boot/Install floppy with your current CDROM config.

Format your boot drive & re-install OS 3.9 along with BB1 & BB2.

Then install the X-Surf software & then the Poseidon software.

If it's all still wrong then, just copy the Back up over & you are where you started.

At least you shared the time with a coffee & a doughnut with sprinkles.

Maybe consider a hardware fault if the same issue occurs. Certainly something talking about before re-copying old OS.

Keep in mind KinHell is using the csmk2, and you are using csmk3. Im not sure what version IComp is using to reproduce the problem. Check the other rapidtoad thread, its in there somewhere.

I just dont think software is the problem here. The CPLD of the rapidroad is the problem. And no way IComp would accept return of hundreds of devices to be reprogrammed. Think of the costs and paperwork. It was a nightmare to send my PIV through customs to germany for repair.

let me know what files your using, tell me where they are & what version they are please.

keep in mind I can only use OS3.1 right now.

One thing you can still try is changing the 060 lib.

I'm afraid I was an OS3.9 user so can't advise with OS3.1 & USB.

Tbh, it's the same installer for Poseidon & the 060 Libs shouldn't really make a difference, but ya know......

still haven't got it working!

No update after all this time!

I'd say the issue is your System is looking for an Old card. RTL8019 is a very common Ethernet chipset, but not the X-Surf100. Either an older Ethernet card or possibly a PCI Ethernet card has been in her at sometime.

If you look at the 4th Pic on the 2nd row pic from my link earlier,

you can see the RTL8150eth.device at the top of the grab.

That's the Device you need to see in order to use the X-Surf. Unless you are very switched on with Amiga OS, try a fresh install to correct.
Deleting the older Ethernet devices from Devs: isn't always enough. There are Prefs: set in Envarc: when your Miggy Boots up.

I'm only interested in getting my RR working right now with my X-Surf 100. I don't have access to a cd-rom and cant' load up the EasyNet that came with my X-Surf since many files on it are above the floppy limit. btw, my OS3.1 is a fresh install.

question is: do I need to install the EasyNet software first to get the ethernet end working on the X-Surf first BEFORE getting the RR going??? I've asked Amigakit this question with no response so far and Jens is in hiding.

No, Easynet software is purely a TCP/IP stack to browse on-line with.

All you need in place are the relevant drivers for the X-Surf100 & the RR. When you are able to see an RTL8150 device, you'll know your Ethernet & USB will work.
