Heck yeah I have pledged my support for this, I remember when I did computing at uni so many textbooks and people were ignorant of how significant the Amiga was, this ignorance cannot be allowed to continue!

Were those interviews shot on an AF100?

The makers get all profits from the DVD sales? Doesn't seem right if its basically charity funded.

Kickstarter is not charity funding. At a simple level you could look at it as pre-ordering. Some projects need injections of cash up front to get going, the benefit of pre-ordering in this way is you get a better product at the end of it. Plus, the higher funding levels on Kickstarter are rewarded with perks that you wouldn't be offered as a normal consumer.

The main point is by funding it in the way we are, we're supporting a higher quality product, so everyone wins. If the makers of Viva Amiga make some money on it after the release, good for them. We even benefit from that, as each sale should help re-spark some interest in the Amiga, helping activity grow.

Well, right or not, it's not unheard of and $25K looks to be pretty small..
(20 most successful projects for kickstarter)
http://www.theatlantic.com/technolog...istory/241789/

A lot of those projects on the list are documentaries and all of them gathered more than $100k on Kickstarter...

And as for fair, I donated $XX dollars and I'm going to get a DVD when they are done...
Sounds more than fair to me.. ;-)

Good luck on the doc, now GET GOING!! ;-)

Well, final hours now... Looking very good for them.
Not only did they reach their goal:

449 Backers
$29,346 pledged of $25,000 goal
5 hours to go

As a community, we should be proud of that..
And it goes to show that, as we knew, there's a lot of love for the Amiga outside our active community as well..
