Sorry, you are completely confusing me. At the be ginning you say, the CF card cannot be found. But you post a hardcopy with HDtoolbox showing it as unknown. Then you say it cannot be partitioned because it looses its memory after a reset. But you post a hardcopy showing partitions on the desktop ready to be formatted. And between every two steps you pretend that the CF card cannot be found although you are definitely making progress. Finally you say you get an error message after one of the partitions have been formatted. I tell you that's because the partitions are too big. Now you repeat that the CF card cannot be found. That's just dumb from my point of view. You are stepping forth and back in your descriptions without any sense.
I definitely know that WinUAE works with each and every USB device I own. I don't have a 8GB CF card but I have a 1GB CF card and a 8GB thumbdrive. There is not much difference between a CF card and a thumb drive. I doubt that there's anything wrong with WinUAE. Note that formatting a partition above 4GB might wipe the partition table so that the card shows as unknown in HDtoolbox again. |

if i set the device to uae with the cf card it wont find the cf card in hd toolbox.
if i set the device to ide0 with the cf card it will find the the cf card in hd toolbox BUT will not partition it. i have explaind this severel times in the thread, i have used a usb external hard drive with great success and completly setup os3.5 as you can see from the picture, but this was just to test winuae and to make sure it is working, the isue that i have is that now i have found the the cf card useing ide0, why will it not save the partitions, surely that is not that difficult to understand, ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? |

they are from os3.1 and the usb hard disk drive that i tried ,
and i did like you said, make the partitions smaller and they formated no problems, but this will not work with the cf card as it will not kepp the partitions when i restart, this is why i asked if it could be a problem in winuae !!!! |

Does the CF card have a write protect switch ?
Did you try again with UAE controller but the CF card being the first (or only) entry in the HDD list ? |

Could you post a hardcopy of WinUAE's HDD list after you added the CF card to it.

Please start winuae with winuae.exe -log, then try and add the cf card into winuae's config, close winuae and post us the winuae.log that was generated.

Why is it so hard to look for yourself.
1. Click on 'miscellaneous' 2. Tick 'Create log file' EDIT: I see you managed to use that thing inside your noggin'. Well Done. |
