Mediator PCI 4000Di
I am thinking of buying a Mediator PCI 4000Di. Is it any good?
At the moment I have a Picasso II and a network card in my A4000D. Would the Mediator PCI 4000Di a good upgrade? Any info are welcome. TIA |

I hear they are good (hey Amigaz!) but the only disadvantage is that it lackes a videoslot...
also intalling the p96 drivers for any mediator is lame. |

I said this because I see you already have a Zorro network card Other might have different opinions Another disadvantage with the Mediator 4000 at least the tower model is that the Zorro slots doesn't work with MorphOS PowerUP that's why I have ditched my Mediator in favour of my Micronik Z3 busboard |

Hi! I'm going to buy used Mirage Pro PCI 4000 tower kit in near future. Are you sure there is some fault/bugs in the zorro slots of Mediator ? Could it be fixed in anyway ? Do these zorro slots work otherwise correctly ? |

That's why I changed to a Micronik tower which is a dream to work with The ZIII slots work fine in AmigaOS and so does the video slots Don't know how to make the Zorro slots work in MOS, Elbox says they should work but I think it's BS |

So, you didn't like that Elbox tower kit (with Mediator) very much ..? Did you have any additional problems ? What would be the right kind of price to pay for an used one , if it works ? What do you think ? How about the others Mediator users here in EAB ? Opinions about The Elbox Mirage Pro PCI 4000 kit ..?! |

I only had a Mediator ZIV and did not like it at all, but the 4000 versions are better

I would just get the Mediator and busboard and then try and find a better tower but if you don't want lots of stuff inside the tower and don't plan to use MorphOS PowerUP you'll be fine Another thing about the Mirage is that there's no room for a CybervisionPPC graphicscard |

@AMIGAZ
doesn't sound too promising for a tower kit, er..? However, I do remember that in Finnish Amiga magazine Saku (issue40), there was a review of just that Mirage Pro PCI 4000 package, and it was evaluated fairly well, except for the limited room inside teh tower case. I think that I 'm still going to buy it, if the price is right .. (what would be the right price..??) :-) |
