Making Silly Putty AGA friendly?

There is an AGA patch here for Silly Putty, but I'm not sure what to do with it. it just loads up a screen with some music and then exits. Can I run this against the Silly Putty disks that came with the A600? That's the version I had as a kid and would like to play on my a1200.

Play Putty instead, much better (basically it is Silly Putty without annoying bugs). Click my sig for details.

Have you tried swapping the disks when you're on that screen?

According to HOL it's also ECS/OCS but I'll give it a try, thank you.

I didn't, and I can't locate those floppies now to try - but it was way too soon in the boot process IMO for that to be the issue.

Is anyone playing this on the A1200? I know there's a sequel that is AGA compatible, but I'm looking for something closer to the original. I'll try Predseda's idea now and if I have the same problem I'll try the disk swap as Treguard says.

No joy with Putty either. After the cracktro, it's just a black screen and the disk drive doesn't do any reading. I've tried mouse, keyboard, joystick and changing disks.

I think I had tried the CD32/AGA Version here (which comes on 3 adfs): http://www.oldgamesfinder.com/?m=2&q=Putty

Do you have extra hardware in your A1200? Just tried this version.

Putty (1992)(System 3)[cr QTX](Disk 1 of 3)[t +5 TSL]

in WinUAE with a most compatible A1200 config (vanilla). Load fine into the game.

I do have a PCMCIA Wifi card, but I removed it and get the same results. The Indivision ACA remains.

I tried the adf you linked to, thank you. But it crashes after the trainer. See attached. I have noticed that with fs-uae, it will run things in the emulated 1200 that will not run on a real 1200 (Batman the Movie, Humans). I have started a thread about it.

Have you tried the Quartex crack without the TSL trainer? Additional hardware/software can always break something. That's an Amiga feature.

I'm learning this I've tried this one based on your recommendation
[ADF] PUTTY (1992)(System 3)(Disk 1 of 3)[cr QTX][CBM A600 bundle]

It looked positive when it loaded the System 3 splash screen as well as the credits and Putty logo. But The logo only appeared for a half second - then darkness and no more disk activity. I tried putting in disk 2 but it didn't attempt to read it.

Just tried this one, it works on WinUAE Default A1200. You'll need to find disk 2 & 3 though.

EDIT: Almost forgot, the patch you linked to in the first post. You copy it to the disk and edit the startup-sequence to load it. I recommend renaming the patch to TSL (saves on typing )

You beauty Arnie Thanks so much. It might be the case that disk 2 and 3 of any version will do, if they're just level data and not AGA specific stuff.

Anyway, it's running great here on my A1200 and if I get through enough levels to need disk 2 and 3 I'll be doing well!

Hope you figure out the problem. I know it's annoying, especially if it's a game you really want to play/show to someone Truth be told, I was taking a wild stab in the dark there
