Blizzard PPC Fan voltage?
Hello gang!
I've got a Blizzard with Phase 5: Blizzard PPC 603e but the connection for the PPC fan is broken, so I'll need to put on another connection, anyone know if it's 5v or 12v? I assume it 5, but I thought I'd double check first! |

Small fans like that are usually 5v.. You can probably also check the sticker under the fan for the voltage details.

At least my CSPPC fan, which broke in 2 weeks, was 5V. I replaced it with a 12V one.

Yep, I put also a fan on the 060 and a third one is blowing on the PALs and Simms as some heat is generated there also.

It's 5 volts, seems to be working fine, but it's version 0, won't work with my Grex
This means I've got a choice of A rev 2 (not 3, sorry that was a typo) with a Grex but only a 68040@25 with a Voodoo3 or a 68060 with a Bvision, which might not work as it's a version 0, maybe, I'll try reflash or something Darn, what a nice problem to have huh? LOL
rev2 works with grex1200, I never heared of rev3... and I had a DCE 060 board... you need the g-rex1200 or the bvision... aga sucks for wb usage on a high-spec 1200 |

Repaired the fan, working fine as a BPPC (and more importantly) 68060 @ 50 not '40 @25. Nice!
I've also Attached the Grex, and the Network card works! Woo-hoo, got on the internet on AGA, and great everythings dandy! Stick the Voodoo3 card in, and it's not seen by the system, network cards okey, it's just the revision one card can't see the graphics card, grrr! I reflashed the BPPC with the grex upgrade Unless anyone can think of anything else I could try? Edited to add: Graphics Card is knacked! just tried it on the old BPPC board could't see it. or in my Windows PC, which is the first time I've turned that on in 3 weeks! slight update, got my hands on another Voodoo3 which works perfectly in my PC, but when I put it in my 1200 tower ^^ it doesn't boot, or even get to the preboot menu. Take it out, and boots perfectly, the network card is working perfectly, which goes through the Grex of course. hmmm
Any idea folks? Should I just give up, get that cable for the Bvision, and that kit to raise up the FastATA 1200 to it'll fit and sell the Grex? Would it work with my rev 0 Blizzard? anybody got more experience in all this than me? Oh, I tried flashing the Blizzard with blizzzppc060update, still the same. Tanks! Amigarobbo |
