It shouldn't be much of a problem, don't forget it's a Stealth accelerator !

Jens, couldn't you create some small stickers to Amiga cases, with your company logo, saying smtg like "Powered by Individual Computers" or so?

I'm toying with upgrading my 1200 with the aca@56, but you can get a blizzard mkIV for slightly less and have expansion possibilities ie: scsi and more ram.
This vs the extra speed and newer hardware.......hmmmm what to do....

@Jens

Did you do any current measurements with the ACA630?
Using a 3A supply is there any margin (CF+1mb+with/without indivision)?

Thanks! (I truly appreciate that )That specs refer to ACA1230/28 but my questions were targetted towards ACA630/25 Stealth. Heating issues are a very different scenario inside an Amiga 600, which caused my concern.

Jens told me ACA630 thermal tests would be finished late last week. But preordering is running wild and I'm still waiting for them. Eer... Do I look a bit anxious? Yup, I am!!!

To cut it short: I need to be confident ACA630/25 Stealth is adequate for long gaming seasons (whole evening, probably whole day) without heating beeing a problem in an A600 with his internal floppy drive not beeing removed (no indivision ECS plans at this point). The moment Jens gives me a simple, plain "YES" to this, ACA630 has got a new buyer!

Otherwise, I'd still be considering Zetro's A608 project (which I fully prepaid, eer... more than one year ago, sigh...), as that fast RAM would be fair enough for my purposes, that's why I was also asking him for news about it. I took for granted there would be no answer from him, same way I take for granted the delays are not his fault at all, but then again, his continued silence is anything but helpful. Luckylly I'm glad to say he's a nice fella anyway, so we're not getting mad at him!

@Kriz sysinfo report 4,69 mips for the minimig while the ACA630 report 6 mips.
[ Show youtube player ]

This video resolution is 320x200 24fps, with stereo sounds...if the HDD speed is good enough I guess we can reach the max resolution : 320x216

just ordered an ACA 630 and ACA 1230/28. not that i could really afford it, but the temptation was too high

Guess that the next purchase would be an indivision ECS, but that is gonna have to wait for 4-6 months i guess.

Had a few problems with my old 030 acc. tends to crash a lot after about an hours uptime, so i was quite keen on getting something new with a low heat profile

As you can see, the game is running with 10fps. Pretty impressive! How can a 68030 CPU compete against a 68040?

ADOOM Shareware running on the upcoming ACA1230-56, 68030 with 56Mhz:

WHAT??? 15fps??? Our 68030 design yields 5 fps MORE than a 68040???

Yes, thanks to a high speed SDRAM memory interface and optimal access to the Amiga chip bus!

For complete humiliation, I'm going to post a comparision with the Blizzard 1230 later...
I'm only getting 17/18 with a Blizzard 12060 @ 50! Maybe I need to check my settings*, but.. that's very impressive for a 68030 card...

Makes me glad I just ordered a ACA1230-56.!

*I only just worked out how to change the right button to move forward!

edited to add, enabled mmu, native and CPU=68060 and got it up to 25/26 FPS
