How to use old Amiga joysticks in PC

This is my experience on how i made my old amiga joysticks work with my PC to use with WinUAE.
First of all i needed a cable, a 4-Player Parallel Adapter for amiga that can also be used ina PC with a Parallel Port. For that i used this (PDF) schematics, a soldering iron, two DB 9 connectors and one DB25 connector or you can purchase it from a few online stores.
To make them work on a pc you need a driver and The PPJOY driver works great, you can download it for free in is website at http://ppjoy.bossstation.dnsalias.org/, it has good installing instructions and it works like a charm.
With this you can connect 2 joysticks to your pc to use with WinUAE or whatever game you want.

That´s it.

Clever. Amigakit sells one for £6.99. As a bonus you can use it on a real Amiga to play four or six player Sneech.

The total cost of the cable i made was about £3 plus the work of building it.
I took about 10 Minutes building one, i've already made a few for my brother and to use in my amigas as well

my mainboard as most newer ones do not have parallel ports anymore, but the USB alternative (the "Retro Adapter") is way too expensive (25 quid!!). And can anyone comment on the lag of the joystick when used on a PC?

I wonder: will this adapter work in conjunction with those cheap USB-LPT converters from China (they can be found on eBay)? If so, are there latency issues?

I want to go the other way. I want to use the CH Mach III joystick I have for my retro PC gaming on my Amiga. I see one adapter on ebay, but I don't really know anything about it.

Instructions Guide

I've finished a quick guide for creating the cable and installing the PPJOY driver in PC.
Sorry for the bad english, it was made in a hurry.
When i have more time i'll clean it up.
You can download it from here.
Hope this helps

I can send the guide in word format to whoever wants to modify and improve it.

Just use the table in the document i made to wire the cable Click here, I found that schematics in the web.
You don't need to wire the 5v pin. You should wire the ground pin just in case. Use pin 18 and 19 in the DB25 plug and connect each of them to pin 8 in both DB9 plug. Pin 18 to Joy 1 and Pin 19 to Joy 2
