no disk version of Beyond Dark Castle surfaced yet, see also here

Let's hope someone will someday be so nice to support his original disk version to CAPS.

I think I've got an original. If so, I'll put it on the CAPS dumping list.

I've submitted dumps of my original a while back, though it hasn't yet been released. I haven't heard of any problems with the dumps, so I'm assuming it just hasn't been processed yet, unless I hear otherwise. I'm sure that CAPS would gladly accept any other dumps that anyone else can provide though.

Just for kicks I put the .WRP version I got from dirkies. I haven't tried it on a real Amiga but supposedly it works fine (don't know exactly which version of warp/dewarp to use on it). Definitely doesn't work when dewarped in WinUAE.

Thanks DPainter!

Does seem to work on a real Amiga (I was able to boot into the game and start playing, on my accelerated A1200)

I used Warp 1.11 from Aminet (ftp://de.aminet.net/pub/aminet/util/arc/warp-1.11.lzh)

(You require 2 disks. I used the commands:
for the first disk:
unwarp BDARK1A.WRP BDARK1B.WRP df0:

second disk:
unwarp 100BDARK2.WRP df0: )

Nice job!

Please don't tell me that all you did was unwarp these within WinUAE to blank extended ADF disks...tell me it was much harder than that!

I got the original Dark Castle (black and white version) for Macintosh SE at the weekend.

The box says it comes on two disks but there was only one disk in the box. The label on the disk doesnt indicate that there should be a second disk but does anyone know otherwise?

I cant try the game out as I havent got a Macintosh SE

BDC reuploaded to the Zone.

@Big-byte: might have something to do with 400kB/800kB Mac disks?

For those of you who own Macs, you might be interested in this:

Overbording ego? They compare a piece of shit like Dark Castle to a great game like Prince of Persia?

Though the remake looks interesting O_O
