A4000D + Cybervision64 + MK2/060-60mhz = garbagge on cursor!
Just used my "new" 4000D with:
- buster 11 - 3.1 roms - MK2 060 - 60mhz 128MB RAM - Arxon/Compserv scandoubler - Cybervision64 (NOT the new 3d one) - OS3.9se +bb1 +bb2 - CGX4 + latest update and the os it came with preinstalled: 3.9 + picasso96 , haven't tested it much, I deleted it and reintalled with cgx but in BOTH setups I was getting garbagge pixels like these that follow the cursor! on cgx prefs, I have DISABLED ALL acceleration option and the roxxler... there is not one tick checked! but still the prob remains! I also put on the Workbench prefs the icons to BEST mode, and checked "Use other mem for gfx" anyone experiencing antything similar? :-? :-? :-? could it be that the vram on the card is bad? |

Hmm, I seem to remember I had a problem with the cursor with my Amiga with RTG, but I was running Picasso96.....
Thinks... thinks... It had something to do with the fact that the Amiga Cursor was a hardware cursor or something like that.... and... erm... you could switch to a software cursor??... I cannot quite remember... Googling hasnt helped |

I had the same in my A4k with CV64.. What daughter board?
Try and rearrange your cards on the daughter board. |

daughterboard Jope? dunno, I guess revB as the mobo...
I have left it at home, I will wait for all your brilliant ideas to try them all together... also, are there settings for the hardware cursor on cgx? I don't remember such a thing... what I will also try, is to remove the 2 extra MB, to see if they are damaged? dunno.... |

What about pixel clock issues? Try 800x600 at 16 bit and below or at 75 Mhz.
Zorro III issues? Jumper 1 must be open for Buster 11. Try using a stock 68030. |

oh, I haven't seen the jumper 1, but the card came with the above buster-11 amiga... maybe it is wrong though... will also try lower res... I haven't tested much, it was past midnight when I installed fully the new OS and noticed that prob... I only tried removing all cgx speed patches on the cgx prefs, and actuall tried cooling the cv64 main chip with a big fan, because it felt hot...

The problem was there with Picasso96? CGX4 can overclock the cards so if the problem was there with Picasso we can eliminate all overclock issues. Did you have the 060 installed already with the Picasso setup? Try using the stock 030 board, any Zorro issues are made worse by fast processors. 680060 libs installed?
I definitely didn't have the problem over here, so I wonder, I didn't use it every day though.. Something fishy if the corruption occurs only at the cursor. Could be the VRam (removing the 2MB extra mem would be my last option), but could be another hardware error on the card, too. If you doesn't get it to work I can send you the Piccolo board and compensate you for the lower value of that card. |

I think Jumper 1 is open, there should be 3 blocks of each 3 jumpers. 1 blcok should have all 3 jumpers closed, the other 2 blocks should each have all 3 jumpers open. Then Jumper1 is open.
Now that I think about it the old setup was not a new installation, I had used CGX4 and then installed Picasso96 over it so there could still be the overclock issue. The only time I ever had screen corruption was with cgx4 and the wrong pixel clock, but that was total screen corruption. |

ah, you are THAT kojak!
no, I will really try and look it at more detail today, back home yeah, I did not overclock or anything similar, and the prob was in p96 too , when I saw it I said: crap p96 (I don't like it, really cgx rox in my book) and that I why I reinstalled the OS with cgx... and corruption is ONLY on the cursor, lol also it could be just reseating the card, man those zorro slots are tight! I am in the fase of gathering ideas right now and.... WELCOME TO EAB, kojak ! u will like it here ! |

I found the site while searching for problems with Cybervision 64.. and remembered you told me about it.
Very interesting postings on Kick Roms.. I'll have to modify the 3.1 eprom of my A600. A600 with CFCard Adapter and without harddrive is very nice for old adventures, games etc. |

@keropi
Using my CV643d on my modded winner 1200, at high resoultions i would have issues with the mouse masking liked yours... I installed some m ouse programe from aminet for graphix card uses (this is in 1995 btw LOL) it sorted out the problem but after a few weeks it came back but strangely enough when i re-installed graphics card software AND picasso and cgx software (after manually deleting all the previous libraries btw) it worked fine... thinking about it now i did change the monitor settings too.... hmmmm anyways good luck buddy @kojak Quote:
got me a 4GB cf card all formmated and preped, primed and ready to go too (just waiting on A600 ) may even splash some cash on amiga kit for the chipmem upgrade too Welcome to the EAB, i am sure you will like it here.. |

@Zetr0
EAB rocks.. I just downloaded the FileDuplicateFinder as recommended and deleted 7GB of dup disks. The trick is to delete all the stuff from tosec that you don't like, some kind of personalized collection.. a shame that the original A600 is useless because of the crappy roms they did fit. No disk drives installable, pcmcia unusable. I just had to upgrade to kick 3.1 Irony is I just found EAB after selling my best A4000. Still got 5x A500, 1xA600, 2xA1200 (Mtec 1230 4MB and Blizzard 1220 4MB), 1xA4000D/040 with Buster 9. The A1200s are wonderful machines IMO if you leave them as they are. 1230 or even 1220 turbocard with 4MB so that you have at least some fastram, small 2.5" harddisk, pcmcia adapter for cfcards. Perfect for games. One of my 1200s has all the extra stuff installed, floppy fix, pcmcia fix etc., the other one still has the original warranty seal. |

Hmm, I got nearly the same config like you.
I had those problems... but only when running with Picasso drivers. When moving to CGX4 everything worked. |

Yep, it's quite sensitive regarding the busboard.. That's why I asked about that.
When I had a CV64 with an RBM busboard, I could not get it to display totally without cursor artifacts. Good to hear it's now working. |

Good to hear. The strange thing is it worked for me without any glitches. It probably sat right at the edge and the ultra-fast 060 pushed it over the line.
The only thing missing is the loop cable! Unfortunately the Piccolo SD64 cable is 9 pin to 15 pin and not compatible with CV64 or else I would have send it. |
