Unofficial CDTV Conversion Thread
The poor old CDTV, despite having a balanced range of multi-media software, it's game support was slim to say the least.
This project is to support 1MB/KS1.3 stock machines with game ports, at first as solo discs, and perhaps later compilation discs. After looking online there wasn't much at all in regards to homebrew discs and the one's i found either needed more ram or gave a red screen, only a handful actually worked. I no longer have a CDTV at present, so this is purely done for the fun and to support anybody that does, but please give feedback on any games that may have an issue on real hardware. Downloads are available in my folder on the EAB server (Uploads/AmigaJay) or my mega account which can be found in the first post of my 'AmigaJay' thread. I've also made front and back covers which are included in the archives, for those who wish to print them out to go alongside the rest of your collection. Games have had their copy protection removed unless stated. Here are the single games in released order; #01 - 4D Sports Boxing #02 - 4D Sports Driving #03 - Battle Chess II #04 - D/Generation (Needs Keyboard for some functions) #05 - Fly Harder #06 - Gulp! #07 - Christmas Lemmings 1994 #08 - Lost Vikings (KB) #09 - Pro Tennis Tour 2 #10 - Another World #11 - Empire Soccer #12 - Marble Madness #13 - Arachnophobia #14 - Challenge Golf #15 - Pirates! #16 - Bubble & Squeak #17 - Push-Over #18 - X-It #19 - Cardinal Of The Kremlin (KB) #20 - Populous II (Updated with Cobe's CDXL Intro) #21 - The Settlers #22 - Bombjack Beer Edition (PD) #23 - Super Tennis Champs #24 - Zerosphere (PD Version) #25 - FA-18 Interceptor (KB) #26 - Frontier - Elite II #27 - Vektor Storm #28 - The Three Stooges #29 - TV Sports Baseball #30 - TV Sports Boxing #31 - Thexder #32 - Trump Castle II #33 - Wayne Gretzky Hockey II #34 - Flight Of The Amazon Queen (Earok) #35 - Test Drive II (Earok) #36 - Titus The Fox (KB) #37 - Dungeon Master #38 - Garfield - Big, Fat, Hairy Deal #39 - Mad TV (KB) #40 - PoNG4 (PD)(CDXL intro & CD audio) #41 - Rings Of Medusa (KB) #42 - The Complete PGA Tour Golf (KB) #43 - Life And Death (KB) #44 - M1 Tank Platoon (KB) #45 - Over The Net #46 - Little Computer People #47 - Sarakon #48 - Tiny Troops #49 - Black Viper #50 - Monopoly #51 - Top Gear 2 Here are my compilation discs in released order; Vol.1 Vol.3 Vol.4 Last edited by Amigajay; 22 September 2019 at 12:16. |

I once tried to do a compilation but can't remember what happened but I had all kinds of problems with games that would run on same setup with HD but wouldn't run from CD
Iirc but maybe not Think I tried LionHeart and a whole load of the Old One File HD install. |

Although I have no CDTV, it is a beatiful machine and it is great that AmigaJay is supporting it now, too. I will forward this thread to a friend who owns a CDTV.
Thanks, AmigaJay! |

Thank you for this effort AmigaJay! I do have a CDTV although its not currently set up. I could drag it out of storage to do some testing. I'm not much of a gamer so unlikely that I would be able to test anything from start to finish but could at least verify launch.

@AmigaEd thanks i appreciate it, any testing and feedback even if just launching and getting into the game will help.

@Amigajay - I have test all your releases with Winuae and all seem to work and play perfect. Great work you are doing for the CDTV community

Good idea. Basically CDTV could be seen as a 1MB A500 with a hard drive capability (not as fast as HD but faster than floppies & no disk swapping)
Test Drive II can probably added too, all ECS 1MB OS-compliant games could qualify provided they have a proper crack (but CD driver could eat some precious memory and prevent some 1MB games to run). Just make sure that savegames can be redirected to DF0: (not sure about D/Gen) |

Amigajay some games need hex edit to get rid of references to DF0: in the executable.
When I did some DOS fixes, I replaced it by another assign (ex: JF0: ![]() |

problem is sometimes the protection is not properly bypassed and there's some DSKRDY code remaining.
Maybe I can help with those. |

@AmigaJay I've chucked two of my own CDTV projects (dating from when I had a similar project in the works) into the zone.
- Flight of the Amazon Queen, including 49 well described save files so that a game can be resumed from almost anywhere. - Test Drive 2 with all expansions, including MombasaJoe's unofficial "North Germany" scenery pack. Feel free to use them if you wish, though you may want to make new ISOs from them - they do show the AmigaDOS 1.3 screen. |
