No, best games are in our memories. Too late for Battle Squadron 2.

i see their link to the 109% review is a scan at Amiga Magazine Rack (hol)
109% seems a little high when other reviews range from 68% to 91%, indeed i liked BS a lot but to reward any game above 100% is totally stupid

If you read the review, you might understand why they gave that score!

Arrow NEW! Hybris and Battle Squadron has an official homepage

Hi
All Amiga users and gamers. The 2 classic Amiga games, Hybris and Battle Squadron has an official homepage at: Cope-Com

Among things to find are screenshots of the never completed Battle Squadron 2.

thanx

note: I see that there are already some discussion on the topic, but here is the official.

There have been 2 minor updates at the site...

Quote:
6.5.2010 Testing various game developing specs on Battle Squadron 2.

8.5.2010 Development will continue on a general development system.
Doesnt mean much to me .

Aviators Youtube video would do the trick at this point

To me this reads as if the Amiga version did not get very far.

Do you think that the lack of a release of an Amiga version, even a demo, after all these years might speak to how far along they were at the time it was cancelled? Or that it just got lost in the myst of time?

Not releasing anything today for Amiga or a youtube video (to me) could either a tactical marketing idea, i.e. "don't release what we got then fans will buy it on whatever platform we target", or mean that what they had was a very very early alpha which wasn't particularly any good.

Or it could be something else all together

FYI for those who missed Amiga Immortal 2 album

Seems like Babylonian Twins set a trend here (which isn't bad by itself). However, not showing any 'rolling' content leaves me with the impression that there were some concept arts and now they produce a iPhone game based on it. Not that I mind much, but claiming that it's an Amiga game that'll be ported to the iPhone is a tad too much in my book (for now).

Nothing about the remarks or the status of the Amiga version leaves me with a bitter aftertaste on this one...

I guess it's a question of not promising anything that they might not be able to deliver.

Now, if there is absolutely no chance of an Amiga version, then I'm sure they'd make a statement about it - anything else would just be cruel.

I'm sure they're like us, and just itching to get a chance to get back to REAL game design

The youtube will show Aviators running on an Amiga500 in halfbrite mode, through WinUAE.

No reason for bitterness here, although I do understand you.

Best regards

After careful consideration regarding our game in development, we have decided to move our new “shoot ‘em up” project onto a broader platform than the Amiga, i.e. to C/C++ and OpenGL.
It looks like all the chance for an amiga version is gone. sad

Told you... This smelt fishy right from the start and now they decided to 'move on' even though it was very close to 'show Aviators running on an Amiga500 in halfbrite mode'. Sure
