Murder Makes Strange Deadfollows CDTV

Heya guys,

Is anybody able to get this running in WinUAE?

You can get a CloneCD image from the EAB FTP Server here.

Tried a standard Quickstart CDTV and different CDTV ROMs; the game starts booting, you see the CDTV logo, continues loading but then nothing...

In this thread Murder makes strange Deadfollows, Bernd says he has it working:

The game is similar to "Case of the Cautious Condor" which is from the same company. Additionally it comes with a nice poster (squeezed into the jewel case) and audio tracks. It also runs fine on WinUAE and will sometime appear on BTTR...

Hmmm, thought I'd try an older WinUAE version and it works fine in v3.0.0:

I can't get it to work in any later versions of WinUAE though

Try ticking the NTSC box. Works for me on 4.2.

...strange that you would need this though; this is the first game I've ever had to do this on.

murder.exe returns to CLI if PAL (possibly region protection, possibly some stupid bug?). Visible if copper list back ground color is adjusted in debugger.

With the other "Tiger Media" game; The Case Of The Cautious Condor; it's actually the opposite i.e. it won't work with NTSC ticked

Are you saying that this game doesn't work in pal mode?

No, The Case Of The Cautious Condor works in PAL but not NTSC i.e. totally opposite to Murder makes strange Deadfollows

Here's one that I can't get Working: Another World CDTV.

It goes to red screen every time. Maybe the ISO is corrupt?

When loaded from workbench The Another World launcher on the CD locks up Workbench.

EDIT: Arcade Pool requires ntsc mode too.

Another World is a custom CDTV version anyway. Not sure if it was properly made.

the game runs at me only with 1,5 MB (1 mb chip ram, 512k bogomem) with WinUAE 3.1.0
