I missed out on Issue 18. I was late going to the shops (had already been in a week or two) and I went to two different WHSmith's which normally stock it (and a third that maybe didn't) to try and get one, and also had another look today but no joy. When a mag like yours is sold out, do they not restock again with the same issue?
Can I order a physical issue 18 from your website as back issue?
We don't really know to be honest - once we pass the copies to the distributor, we don't have much influence. It's down to the distributor and individual retailers how they stock it, although we do give them a prod now and again.

All back issues are available on our site (or from us directly at live events).

The wheels never stop turning at Amiga Addict!

As the magazine moves into its fourth year, we have one of our most important cover features so far, as we look into the legendary software archive, Aminet. If you've been online with the Amiga at all (or thanks to the CDs, even if you haven't), you've definitely been to Aminet. Founder Urban Müller tells us all about how the site came about and the challenges it faced to become, at one time, the largest software archive on the internet - on any format!

Also in Issue 26:
  • Games editor James puts new shooter Reshoot Proxima 3 through its paces, and Ian looks at Ooze: The Escape
  • We reveal the results of our inaugural Readers Survey
  • Ian talks to the man behind the amazing video resource Amigavideo.net
  • Gareth continues his look at animation in Imagine in this issue's Creative Revolution
  • Ravi takes a look at the options for PowerPC laptops
  • Your regular dose of classic gaming with looks at Bob's Bad Day, Escape from the Planet of the Robot Monsters and Dragon's Lair
  • h0ffman is here as always with some top notch modern releases from the demoscene
  • All your other regular features and much more!

Available now on https://shop.amiga-addict.com or in stores from 28th December

We talk to Simon about the development process and look behind the scenes at how it came about. And Simon has kindly employed his artistic skills to bring us another fantastic cover!

Also in this issue:
  • We talk to Anthony and Nicola Caulfield about their new Amiga documentary
  • We find out why jotd666 is so keen on porting classic arcade games to the Amiga
  • New game C64 - The Mysterious Cassette reviewed
  • Reviews of classic games Alfred Chicken and Moonstone

I saw issue #24 at the newsagent the other day. Having not seen an Amiga magazine at retail for over 20 years (excepting a Retro Gamer special or two), I had to buy it of course :-)

Overall it's very good, just a couple of small annoyances: (1) Tenebrae 1 & 2 are ugly monochrome stuff yet were awarded 70% for graphics?! So 2-colour graphics are considered to be above average on an Amiga!? I am struggling to imagine what kind of graphics anyone could make that would be bad enough to score 69% or less under such circumstances, maybe just a blank screen? I get that you are trying to encourage more games development, but I don't think overrating games is the way to do it. It would never have scored 70% for graphics back in the day, and things have only advanced since then. (2) TF330 review has no prices, ratings etc.

Thanks for picking up the mag, glad you enjoyed it and it's great to see more people seeing AA in stores in Australia!

With regards to the TF330 article - that was more of a retrospective piece rather than a review so we decided not to include scores etc that time. Bit of an editorial decision.

As for the Tenebra games - I reviewed those games and I scored the graphics based on how appropriate they were for the game and the atmosphere they were trying to generate - in a game focussed on light and dark, this was definitely the right way to go. There's plenty of highly rated monochrome games even on modern platforms, I feel we've moved past "you must have lots of colours to have good graphics". Obviously every review is subjective and down to the reviewer's opinion (which just happens to be mine this time). Hopefully I provided enough information for you to determine if you agree, but be assured I am happy to rate down where appropriate (and have!).

I see. I am not a close follower of the third-party CD32 hardware scene and the word "Testbench" implies a review; I just assumed it was a new product since there is nothing in the article to suggest otherwise.

This issue we turned our magazine upside down (or on its side anyway) in an effort to celebrate some of the best games and developers from our neighbours in mainland Europe! This issue we're looking at The French Connection (no, not the film) with interviews with some luminaries en France like Éric Chahi of Another World fame and François Lionet, creator of AMOS.

Also in this issue:
  • Review of the newly revitalised Final Fight Enhanced
  • A look at French classics Future Wars and Extase, including an exclusive player guide
  • A new Demoscene artbook from French publishers Éditions 64K
  • h0ffman reports back from another successful Revision demoparty
  • We interview Ravenlordess about Amiga cosplay
  • Getting into Amiga CD media with a Sony Vaio CD drive
  • A look back at the unique Bodega Bay case for the A500
  • Batch processing animation with ImageFX
  • And all your usual regulars and favourites!

Available now at https://shop.amiga-addict.com, or in stores from 2nd May.
