Replay 060 daughterboard

Hey Guys,

not posting often here but thought you might be interested into this. MikeJ is finally giving the final touch to the 060 daughterboard for his replay.

Final specs:

* 68060 socket with variable vcore.
* Variable speed 4-pin fan driver controlled by CPU temperature.
* 128MBytes of local FAST memory.
* RTC with battery backup.
* Audio input.
* USB host.
* Ethernet.
* SD Card directly connected to FPGA for faster mass storage.
* Midi interface header.
* Floppy disk connector (!).
* Extra LED drivers.

He posted a pic of the almost final layout here: http://www.fpgaarcade.com/punbb/view...d=11050#p11050

A prototype should be shown this month. The board will come w/o the 060 but he should have some to sell (not necessarily rev6 but price should be interesting). Depending on the 68060 you could make it run @100mhz.

FYI in the latest core there's RTG support , a AHI driver (hw mixing in the work), floppy support through a custom made interface and the 020 gives about 11mips in SysInfo. There's also quite a few goodies in the latest fw (like the possibility to mount the sdcard under AmigaOS or mount the SD card through USB connected to a PC to easily put files on it).

A batch of the current replay rev board should/will be produced by MikeJ but a new Replay v2 is in the work with a Spartan7 (bigger and way faster FPGA) as some component on the current rev is getting harder to get.

Cheers.

Given how long we wait for the general availability of the first generation, I wouldn't be too excited...

It's a shame because it looked quite interesting back then.

yeah, it has taken longer than expected.
There are around 200 of the first gen boards out there.
The daughterboard will go to production as soon as layout is finished, hopefully next week.

The delay on the new baseboard has mainly been due to late delivery of the Spartan7. They are starting to ship now. It'll be worth the wait

/Mike

I saw one of these this weekend - very nice bit of kit. I'm always surprised by how big the 68060 is.

They list Amedia as the distributor in Europe, but it seems one can't order it from there. And the daughter board is listed as 'Coming Soon' on the FPGA Arcade page, one year after the announcement here...

It was in the Amedia shop that I saw it. He was running tests on it; I don't know if it was ready for general sales yet.

Nice to see progress being made. Has there been any mention of cost?
