I am trying to talk the guy to sell them apart from the Amiga auction here: http://www.mercadolivre.com.br/brasi...Z&it_n=7563105

Price is not high at all as R$ 100 is about US$ 28 for the 9 boxes. I'll be glad if I can help and give back the scene some contribution.

As you probably noticed from that gameinfo.xml I posted in another thread - this will allow fontend writers to (say) create a 3D box - and all the nice stuff that may come with that.

Can you imagine the fun value of WinUAE if you select the CAPS game, and a 3D representation of the proper box is opened, with a 3D proper disk being put into the drive

@Antiriad

Okay, we have 1000's of scans of the front of boxes, but the only games we *complete* have scans of are Dragon's Breath, OutRun and Turbo Trax. We have a long way to go - we have only been concentrating on the dumps themselves until about a week ago. Scans will be done as the dumps are ready - so it is not as much an issue as you might think.

Yes! It was an Amstrad (CPM 644) monitor! Were you there?

@Fissuras

Nice! Let me know how it goes.

@bippym

I don't think this stuff will ever be a part of WinUAE itself. I would say it does not exactly belong in an emulator anyway. So it would have to be made part of a frontend that launched UAE.

Actually what you propose is almost identical with what we want to see too. Just not as part of UAE.

Seeing the box etc.. represented as 3D would be cool, but I was joking when it came to UAE!

How did you know? Have you seen some photos of the show or something? I took some, but they all came out black.

Never heard of that game, and we don't have it already I am fairly positive... Dumping it would be great!

Out of your other stuff : you never know what we have not come across yet! If you could send me a list, it would be much appriciated.

No. Ah righty. I'll have to dig MAME out.

I certainly do! Some cool games in there. Some we have, but it may be that you have a different version than us - and we want to find as many as we can.

Scans would be lovely too of course.

About Lemmings. I don't know. Is the gameplay similar to what is described on the wanted page? Please note - we are looking for a "demo" promo. Not the full game promo.

As always please mail contributions@caps-project.org. Come on guys! I have not recieved any mail yet.

Yes, thanks again for your dump contributions!

We can't supply you with an image of the game without protection, because don't strip protection out of games! But then you knew that.

However, I have already made sure that you guys will get a fully protected image very soon after releases start to appear. It is a very high priority for us. Hopefully we can get the up-and-coming mastering tools to write it on a normal Amiga too.

Yeah, shame about Cyclone. However, as you will see from another thread on the board you have a much older version than the latest - we just need to find you a copy!

See here: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?...hlight=Cyclone

Thanks again to Bernd for the answer!

Whether it will work on not is anybodys guess - but worth a try. Mind you, it is *possibly* only *weeks* left until the first C.A.P.S. release. We will try to get some out for Christmas - hopefully. Yours will follow as soon as we are able to get it out after that.

You CANNOT believe how pissed i am that my copies of Populous and the promised lands were wiped over by hacks!

Populous was made into a Whd install recently, and i noticed it didnt work with my version. Psygore very kindly said he would receive the images and create one that works with what i thought was the genuine budget re-release.

He then told me that i had the Quartex crack of it!
Meaning the previous owner wiped his ORIGINALS!!!:eek
Nutcase!

As I said, I has talked the guy and he was willing to sell me the games, but someone just bid before he could change the Auction, now I can't buy him the games, unless I buy the Amiga too

Unfortuately there is a very good reason for this. Populous (not sure about the promised lands though) contains an invalid MFM stream in the Copylock track. This means that this track is *very* likely to go bad because it is "hard to read".

With what I said abov, this also means that the game goes bad quite easily. i.e. it stops working. This is probably why your original got copied over with a crack.

Although this is still a silly thing to do (we could have recovered that disk) you should BLAME THE PUBLISHERS for doing something so stupid.

You will be happy to know that when the CAPS image comes out you can fix your disk as new.
