Wanted Atari 800xl

I quite fancy an Atari 800 to add to my retro collection - not quite sure why though, usually commodore only for me !

Anyway, bit of a long shot, but anyone got one for sale ?

Cheers !

Nah, that Atari disk drive was a simple serial connection with no fancy drive logic. It's easily emulated with any serial port and the APE software (or similar).

Yes, but with emulation it's not "true Atari"

It have better and more playable games than Lynx. A lot of games for Atari XE/XL are from Poland (they're not so bad as Amiga polish games). You can see games from one company here: [ Show youtube player ]

The Atari computer range is home to some great games like Alley Cat and Fort Apocalypse.Smoother versions of all 4 3d Lucasfilm games such as Fractulas and Ballblazer - though these are still very good on C64.Koronis Rift looks quite a bit nicer actually due to the Atari's colours though i think the frame rate for this title is about the same as C64 just thinking about it

Technically superior in some ways to C64 too though not in the ways of arcade sprite games so much

Always wanted an Atari and they're definitely worth checking out if just for some of the lovely colour shemes games often had - not always

Atari 800's version of Alternate Realtiy: The City.... beautiful. Perfect. That and Yoomp! alone should be a reason to get an 800xl

A friend of mine is selling on on AtariAge right now for $25 USD plus shipping - check him out. "Eightbit" user name, I actually got my first Amiga from him... yesterday!

25 dollars? OMG, there are sellers that offers them for eight ten dollars (maximally) in my country. And they are in very good condition. Maybe I should get few and then sell them to retrogeeks

Auch! What country is this exactly... and do you have 'em in full-socketed form?

Momma needs a new QMeg mod!

Czech Republic.

They dont agree with sending them abroad.

Both started on 1 czech crown (4 euro cents) and they are usually sold for 200-300 crowns plus 60-100 crowns for postage. The cheapest ones are for ten euros then.

But I saw advertisements "for disposal," it means "help me get rid of that piece of rubbish"

In my opinion emulation of speccy, atari, c64, cpc, atari 2600, NES, Master System is perfect (and have so many advantages) and buying these consoles and comps is useless.

edit - some people wanna earn money on it and they sell these comps as rare for VERY high prices.

Well 'friend' in the "we've posted together on Digital Press and AtariAge a lot and done trades" sense... haven't met him in person but we've conversed. If you check out his SNES backup unit with the modified HxC controller - it was my UFO he used for the mod.

And yeah... Czech Republic would be a bit hard to import from... but a lot of the fun of these machines is keeping 'em running. Or making them do things they weren't meant to.

Why else have a Spectrum running Wolf3D?

or a loose one that only works with an AV cable RF output is dead, This is a later MB with pretty much nothing socketed but does have the FREDDY chip. I have hooked up the missing chroma line to give s-video out £15
Also got a boxed 1050 and a boxed XC12
