RPG games with similar interface & view to Eye of the Beholder?
I'm searching for RPG games with similar interface & view to Eye of the Beholder. Not Amiga only. Sega CD have really good version of EotB but techno music in fantasy game is not so good idea...

There's also the Might and Magic series (on various platforms, mostly PC later on).

I've been searching for the same type of RPG myself for a while now. I'm guessing you know all of them on the Amiga (like 'Crystal Dragon', etc).
A few for DOS would be: LANDS OF LORE (naturally) DUNGEON HACK [ Show youtube player ] I've been checking out some RPGs on the SNES lately, most of them are in the JRPG style which I don't care for. Let me know if you come up with any good ones. |

http://www.abandonia.com/en/games/43...Skullkeep.html http://www.abandonia.com/en/games/46...+of+Chaos.html in doom style 3D: http://www.abandonia.com/en/games/49...berranzan.html (also: Thunderscape, wasn't bad, albeit a bit difficult to control) but the best ones, imho are the usual ones, with Black Crypt above all of the clones; Ishar serie for the graphics, Hired Guns if you are on a real amiga with 2 mouses and a friend, Crystal Dragon. |

Oh, and the Realms of Arkania (Das Schwarze Auge) series.
Edit: Also most (all?) of the (long) Wizardry series. Don't know about the console ones (as differences in the console versions of M&M were mentioned before). |

True, battles are 3rd person isometric and involve turn-based movement (position, distance, etc. can matter). Wizardry (what I've played of the series) has a more classic battle system, though.

to my knowledge, EoB I and II have the most understandable fighting combat of them all: turn based games like Wizardry are really slow, in Black Crypt you don't really understand if you are damaging your opponent and it's a bit punitive at times... Ishar is a bit tricky (you move the mouse pointer around too much, plus the fatiguing system is an anvil tied to your legs...)
a new EoB would be very welcome... |

I don't think gold box games could be considered similar interface with EOB. The combat engine is totally different and turn based.
I would suggest giving a go to might and magic series. [ Show youtube player ] [ Show youtube player ] |
